It's been awhile, a looooong while since I've had this gear out. If I take these camping in a National Forest, could they get me a ticket???

I can't say I've ever heard of anything of the sort, but I'm not well versed in the National forest rules. But what would they get you a ticket for, by using camping gear? AFAIK, only open fires are prohibited during high fire danger times.

How could a lantern and whatever get you a ticket??

Like I said, it's been awhile. For all I know you poor bastids have been restricted to eating cold Tofu and raw fish in the wildeness. :D
Liquid fueled equipment has always had inherent risk. Since I see new stuff that runs off propane or batteries, I though it would be good to ask.

new stuff runs off of propane because it actually functions. Those dang liquid ones never work when you need them. YOu have to pump them, and the pump brakes, or a seal is dried up or broken... I just slap a $1.50 prefilled propane on there and be done with it!

Mike I have not had any issues from using my old equipment that ran off fuel and open flames.

As far as I know you are going to be fine. Myself, I have never asked nor checked and simply brought and used the stuff I had, which I will do the next time out, too.
Throw some oil on the leather seal on your stove, call it good enough and have some fun...
Propane is fine until it gets below freezing, then any liquid fueled stove is going to work better. You can get better winter/cold weather performance out of a propane fueled stove by running a copper grounding strap over the top of one of the burners, then flattening it and wrapping it around the propane bottle. Throwing the propane bottles into a sleeping bag at night helps a lot, too.
