Today i got a ticket from Lakewood police for running a stop sign...When in reality its a yield sign! I was given a ticket for running a stop sign. I then ask the cop about it being a yield sign for people turning right, and the stop sign for the ones turning left, because this intersection has a merge lane when turning right. He insisted that my yield sign was a stop sign. I then asked if he would follow me to the spot where i ran the ticket, which was only 2 blocks away and he told me no. So after it was all said and done i went and checked anyway...and it turns out it WAS a YIELD sign. So now thanks to him, i get to go to court, waste my time/money to fight over his mistake! Ironic that he didn't pull over the 2 people in front of me, nor the 3 behind me that all proceeded through at the same time as me. Rant over

I never do understand the thought process on how one justifies himself to doing things like that to people, I won't say much more as the last law enforcement discussion I got into on here someone got a little upset. I would like to point out (even though they claim there is no monthly quota) it is the 20th today, with only 12 days left in the month.

there is a monthly quota. Welcome to lakewood revenue enforcement agency!

I would take pictures and bring them with you, showing the sign, street name signs and contest it in court. Make that revenue enforcement officer look like crap.

I can't complain too much, since those same Lakewood Police were the ones who saved my ass from the guys who busted through my door and tried to rob me. Still no excuse for stupidity like this.

You should be able to sue the ticketing officer for the cost of going to court, etc... If these cops had to fork over some of their own pay to cover their mistakes, they would be more careful.

Fakehood's finest... They couldn't even find the joker who was trying to barge my door down. He was begging to be shot. (And I quote, "Shoot me, just shoot me, put me out of my misery.") Two inches of fresh snow on the ground and one set of tracks in it...hmmmm, can we say lazy?

I fought my first ticket on the grounds the cop did not know the posted limit where he caught me speeding. The judge understood why I was quibbling about a 5MPH discrepancy: It was worth 4 points on my driving record. The Judge was really cool with me: He looked at all my pictures showing the posted limits, asked me to go look at the spot where the cop said there was (NOT!) a reduced speed posted, then asked me if I had a report from the city traffic engineer. He said he would get a report from the city traffic engineer and continued the trial.

I would have saved a lot of time and film if I knew there was such a thing as a traffic engineer.

Years later I was involved in an accident where I was driving the posted speed limit. The guy who took my right of way kicked a fuss because he was confused about the speed limit in my direction of travel. Guess who settled that dispute?

I have never liked Lakewood police. They stake out my dealership everyday only because we sell Porsche and Audi.
I have a long rant to share but everyone knows Lakewood are the highest paid police force in the metro area, geuss why!

Today a tow truck dropped a audi off and ran, why? because he blew a major hydraulic line on his rig and covered
garrison with fluid. Turns out the cop attending the scene until it could be cleaned up was super nice. I am geussing
only because it was not the dealerships fault. I have lived worked on and off in Lakewood since 1980 and they have
not done 1 thing to earn my trust. Quite the contrary, they go out of their way to piss me off. Hence the reason I now
live in littleton, or unincorporated jeffco.
