I don't think he'll make it far Fred, seems more concerned about his guitar than lack of basic knowledge of 4x4's and associated tools.

If you haven't seen it already - rent the documentary "Long Way Round". A true story about a couple of actors who ride BMWs accross the world. Very entertaining I thought. http://www.longwayround.com/html/lwr_dvm.html

I just finished this up. Great watch. Although they are riding motorcycles, the sense of off-road adventure is still there. They even link up with their support crew for parts of the trip- who are in 4x4s. It really makes me angry that I can't break away to do an adventure like this- career, family, money.......
And they also have a "newer" trip called Long Way Down- they go from Scotland to South Africa. I'm going to get that and watch it next.
