Im pretty much done with the burban, i m gonna savr $ this winter and buy another burban . haku got me thinking about a 90 's burban and using my rig for the SAS swap on it. Or buy a late 80's burban again. But this time make sure everything works. Hopefully i ll take my time and find the perfect one. sincr the divorce its been reallyneasy saving money. Any thoughts on another type of rig? Im open to suggestions. I want to camp out of it and be able to pull a trailer if needed. Ive found alot of cheap k-5's . But not sure about how small thry r. I really like the 80 body style burbans .

A suburban is a lot of truck. Is there a reason you want to stick with one?

i love burbs, i likr the fact i can use it as a camper. I still have the burb it runs. the biggest thing is theres too many memories with it. I started a new life and the still has old mrmories with it. Sounds korney i know.

get a sub between 90-96 parts and goodies are cheap plus get too new and the aftermarket goodies(sensors, and streetable )get pricey plus you have a big family so the motorized tent is always kid friendly, plus your kids are growing and the sub is big/cheap enough for your family to tow toys behind plus your memories are not korney that is what makes us who we are ....best wishes good luck

If you want to camp out the back of it I to would stay with the Burb. The K5 is nice if there is only 2 people, and not a lot of gear. You can always take out the back seat for more room but then that leaves nowhere for the kids to sit.

Hey roland... youve been in the IH family before, you should pick up a traveller or a travel-all!! Lift it to the size of that burban, you could throw the hole family in... sounds fun to me!! :D

Steve, thats what im thinkjing also, i was telling my co driver i dont know if i want an IH or burban but i found a travelall for $700 .im in no big hurry , i just need to replace the center pin for now it will get me through wjnter.Ive seen some really nice built scouts for $4000. cuz i really do miss my scout.

yea, you can get some real nice scouts lately for around that price. I was suggesting one of the bigger IH models just because you are used to such a huge rig. Honestly, I love the size of my scout, but do find myself running out of room with just the fiance, the puppy, and myself and all my crap. Granted, I do carry a LOT of crap. Also, scouts arent really so great for sleeping in. I suppose you could flip up the rear seat and sleep on the floor, but then you cant really haul anything with you, or have to dump it all out at night.

I was thinking a traveler, although not quite as good for wheeling, gives you some more rear cargo room, and a lot of people put a third row of seats in them. But here you sacrifice departure angle for more space inside. I dont know a lot about the travel-alls, but that seems more like the IH version of a suburban to me, so maybe more what you are used to having.

yea, but he is asking WAY too much for that. My scout was $800 and I drove it home, passed emissions, and tagged it without having to do any work to it. This arent really as rare as the guy thinks they are.

oooooh, i like that first one. The red one. That thing looks nice!!

You never see anyone wheeling a travel all, so it would be pretty unique, yet crosses parts with scouts and stuff, so easy to work with i would think. Down side is that HUGE ass on those things. You would need to lift it pretty high to maintain good clearances, but that is your style isnt it roland?!?! :D

Yup i really like that red one, and if i was in the market for another Vehicle and interested in a IH that'd be my pick too.

WINKY
September 15th, 2010, 07:05 PM
so why not put that $700 into the burban? if you get another vehicle, your going to be starting fresh and dumping alot of money into it. if i were you, id either dump money into the burb or get something newer like that excursion with power stroke and then it would be worthwhile with a lift and 35's.

But its just a thought.

It's not the burb he has issues with Randy, it's memories that stay with it. ;)

That sounds like a great decision Roland! Mine's still sitting unhappily in the storage yard. Maybe this winter will have $ to fix the engine and new suspension. I have no plans or desire to get rid of it!

I see that you have now changed your mind... but thought I would still post this for you anyways roland. Could be a pretty sweet rig, and sounds like room for the fam.

i contacted Pep Boys and they Qouated me $700 to replace all balljoints and tie rod. and $200 for new winch cable from High Country Perfprmance, and $14 for new tranny mount . now im looking for another tranfercase cus mine leaks like the Exxon Valdese now. and the fliud on the ground is really sparkly with metal shavings. but right now im having a hard time working on it cus i have my kids all the time and cant watch them and fix my centering pin at the same time . if i can change out the centreing pin i can atleast drive it. but its hard to make time right now.

How long does it take to fix that? Maybe we can work out a "play date" and I can take your kids to play with my little Annika for a while so you can get it done. (You met me and Annika on the Devils Canyon clean up run. Our girls got along great)!
