I just picked up a GoPro HD 960 and realized two things. 1. I have no idea what to use to edit video and 2. HD video is a huge resource hog! What are you guy's and gals using to edit vid's. I down loaded the demo adobe premeer 9 but i kept getting runtime errors, So i can only asume my laptop dont have the guts to run it? i have 1.624GHz dual core prosesser and 2.5G of ram with i would think it would run just about anything, maybe not fast but at least it would work. any way looking for idea's. Thanks!!!

Try some free junk before you purchase anything. A lot of the free video editing/capture software does 90% of what you need if you don't want or need a bunch of special effects.
Here is a link for Windows Live Movie Maker 2011:

Video Spin (based on Pinnacle, which I use, but minus some minor codecs):

A site that reviews the 18 best free video editing software downloads for WinDoze:

I have used Pinnacle Studio for years with decent to good success. It is pretty much hassle free, user friendly, will save in a bunch of different formats, has a decent amount of built in special effects and ir relatively low priced (around $100). You can also edit the videos from a bunch of different styles and it supports drag and drop, which is pretty nice. I got this before I realized there were a bunch of absolutely free video editing programs out there that do almost all the same things. They all do the basic stuff.
Hope these help and that you are well.

I use Sony Vegas primarily but I may go to Premier if I can learn it.
Your laptop should work just fine. However you could always buy my quad core 3GHz, 8GB RAM setup that I'm selling lol.

I'd offer suggestions, but they would only be useful if you were running linux. Which I'm guessing you aren't, since you mentioned Adobe.

They are very similar programs, but I think Premiere is a just a bit more intuitive with effects and titling and such. I've used both, and prefer premiere personally. I have premiere installed on my Core I7 lappy and it runs allright, but could be better. I think doubling the RAM would help a bunch though.
I haven't used the lower end programs much so I can't say how they are, but I do like premiere.
