If you were on the anniversary run, or have looked at the pictures, you have already seen this. FIgured I would go a head an post a writeup on it. I have been working on thie exo for about 3 weeks now, and will have it finished this week before Moab.

Front is 99% done, and the tire swing is mostly done. Just need to finish up rear quarter pannel protection.

tire carrier swings open to the passenger side, using a Scout II dana 44 locking hub as the hinge, which also allows me to lock the swing open. The carrier also opens down, to allow for the removal of the tire and gas cans. This also allows me to lock all 3 up with jsut one lock. WHen closed, the gas tanks can not be opened to be siphoned either. I realize this probably doesnt make a lot of sense it words, but I will get a better picture of it all tomorrow.

Nice work! Will it end up going any higher? You still have an in-cab, right?

Not intending to go any higher. I do still have the cage inside to protect myself, and I intend to do the majority of the summer wheeling with the top off anyways. The outside cage ties into the inside cage in a few spots.

here are some pics of the tire carrier opened so that the gas and tire can be removed. The tire is tension mounted onto a receiver hitch, so the receiver provides directional support, and the large bolt in the middle provides lateral support to keep the hitch mated. This allowed me have a vibration//rattle free mount, that is still easily removable... also provide for a receiver hitch opening on the outside for mounting future accessories (bike rack, fuel tanks, cooler rack, etc)

Here is the drivers side pretty much all finished up. Passenger side is sitting in the garage while the paint dries, and will get welded on tomorrow.

Dang Rob, that was a fast response... are you stalking me??

Then I will be ready for Moab... that is after I install my CB antena and cable, relocate my license plate, re-attach my ebrake... and load up the scout with spare parts...
