Eric is on spring break, so we decided to head down to Moab. (it was either there or Vegas) I have not been out that way since November of 2007 – it was time. We got there Tuesday afternoon and stayed in town until Friday afternoon. 2 solid days of wheeling – 8 trails. Metal Masher, Gemini Bridges, Tusher Tunnel, Long Canyon, Klondike Bluffs, Hell’s Revenge, Fins N’ Things, Porcupine 4X4 Trail. The weather was cooperative, so we had the top down most of the time. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Looks to be about 900-1100 feet if I had to make a guess.....

I am not afraid of heights, but hate shelf roads and that looks to be one. Give me some 1/8" edges on a technical rock climb 2,000 feet off the deck and I am cool. Stick me on a shelf road in a vehicle like that and I am not a happy camper. I simply don't like relying on a vehicle in situations like that...of any make or model.

Thanks for the nice photos and write up!

It is a high one for sure off of the lookout on Metal masher. The breeze was a little stiff too, so that added to the experience.

Crazy thing - when we were at Gemini Bridges some nutwhack college kid jumped across the gap between the arches. Eric caught the whole thing. The kid was talking to his girlfriend about doing it. He then said, "Well, I'm done thinking about it" and took the leap. Nearly missed the landing.

Tusher Tunnel is pretty cool. Went there last year.

There is a lot more to see if you explore down to the left and right of the tunnel opening on foot. Seems like most people only go through the tunnel, look and head back. I think we spent over an hour looking around. Spotted this guy too.

Thats crazy! Last time I was out there, a group of climbers was rapelling down the gemini bridges. Looked like fun.
