It's not me doing the work. Buddy of mine does a ton of work on jeep forums. He is building my 8.8 hp30 combo right now. Feel free to text him and let him know Loren sent you. His scope of work is not limited to axles. I just used that to give examples of his prices. This is all he does now. He is getting a shopnin a couple weeks and will be able to handle a ton more work.

Axles in the Jeep. Drive it to his shop, drop it off, have him re-gear, pick it up the next day, drive home.

This is generally accepted as the best price from a reputable vendor on JK gears with overhaul kits -- $550 w/free shipping.

He is gonna stick to ford and jeep for a while. He is more than busy already. I'm guessing once the shop is up and running he will start working on more stuff. I would love to turn this into a business and give everyone great work at honest prices. Keep overhead low and inventory tight. Make it work for everyone.

Very interesting. IMHO, a little competition would be great for the shops in this area. Need a price with master install kits for a direct comparison.

For perspective (for anyone still reading and all of the JK owners on the site), the best deals for the JK from reputable shops nation wide are $999 offered by Off-Road Evolution and Screamin' Lizard Customs. In this area, the cheapest prices from reputable shops are ~$1400 from Crazy Ed's and Crawlertech. All of the other reputable shops in the area are in the $1600-2000 range (John's 4x4, High Country Performance 4x4, Bullhide 4x4, T&T Customs).

Once your buddy gets a shop, insurance, can make a statement about warranty on both parts and labor (in writing), and has reference customers (just guys on the forums; especially for the JK) make sure you give us an update. I know that's a tall order, but that's what it takes to move it to a professional level. Good luck.

If you would like references check out COJEEPS.NET. He is one ofnthe founders. I don't think he is doing insurance and such for a while. I haven't heard of anyone ever having an issue with work he has done but anything is possible. Insurance, warranties etc all drive price up. I think he is just expanding to deal with increased volume. I just thought some guys on here would appreciate a deal. As far as JK work he has done quite a few already. Actually has a spare axle (rear 44) left over that he tooknon trade for some work that he needs to get rid of if u know anyone interested.

As far as I know, Dutch still takes side work. Just keep in mind, he has a day job as an ASE Certified Mechanic, a family, and National Guard duty. The only bad thing I can say about him, is that he has a Jeep problem.

I have seen Dutch's work and workmanship. I have handed him my hard-earned money and will do so again. He has my endorsement. :thumb:

That's only the labor but it's for a Ford 8.8 rear end no matter what amount of parts it needs etc. No the cost of parts is NOT included in the $250 lol

Wasn't saying anything bad about Josh, just that he must be busy. I need to clarify that. I've been to busy too help people before even if it would make me money so I understand.
