Found this on another forum looking for something else:

So yesterday, my friend texts me and asked "What does IDK mean?" So I said, "I don't know." My friend texts me back and say "OMG no one knows!" http://www.wranglerforum.com/images/smilies/rofl.gif

Don't feel bad, Gene. I had to look that up, Ditto with ROTFLMAO..not to mention most of the other abbreviations .

LMAO: Laughing my ass off
ROTFLMAO: Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off.

There should be another: ANAFU: abbreviations normal, all ****** up....

Comes with all the lameass text messaging stuff and the subsequent lazyass way of not using any punctuation or capital letters. Pure and simple lazyness as far as I am concerned, especially the lack of punctuation and caps. I usually don't even read any posts on the forum that don't have caps or punctuation as they are simply too hard to read. There has been more than one post on here where people have noted 100 word run on sentences(or more), no capitals, no punctuation, etc, and just what a PITA is is to read crap written like that.

There are actually keys on most keyboards that allow one to increase the size of the first letter in a sentence and to add simple stuff like periods and commas. It doesn't take much more time or effort, either...Oh....and 'Spell Check"..That is another good one. Most generic Word programs actually underline the word that is misspelled with red or green underlining. That is a pretty good clue in my book that something is misspelled....'Lameass' and 'lazyass' as well as the abbreviations all have cute red lines under them even as I type....This time I am ignoring that as this is the way I want them to read....:D

I have to say this is funnier to me, Pete a self proclaimed non techy guy is showing his resistance to modern day technology. Love ya Pete! :thumb:

How about :
IIRC-If I ReCall
TIA-Thanks In Advance

I sum it all up to time. It takes alot of time to type out all of the responses to 5 different forums which I now peruse. Plus I am a techy guy with the latest smartphone and do text alot.

Heck, I didn't even own a phone for a number of years and that was great. I called people when I wanted to talk to them. I have probably destroyed about 5 cell phones, once with a sledge hammer because simply throwing it onto the cement didn't produce the desired results (They are strangely resilient little bastards...). When I was forced to carry pagers for work for one reason or another, I accumulated a huge tally of pagers that are now part of building foundations or caissons, fell 'off the boat', or had accidentally fallen many, many floors down to the ground....The pagers used to explode in a very satisfactory manner when hurled against a wall with enough force...

I just went around with my cell phone company about getting a lot of the features on my phone turned off, like text, and get the phone back to the point where it is simply a damn phone. You call out, receive calls, and maybe take messages. No such luck. Part of the package. I could care about all the other junk on my phone and I specifically asked for the simplest, low tech phone I can get...Heck, all the text messages I get, I never even read them. The phone gives it's stupid little 'text' sound (which I also can't seem to turn off) and I know to delete the text message, unread.

This reminds me of a post I read of a mother and daughter texting.

Daughter: I got an A on my Biology final!

Mom: WTF!

Daughter: Mom, do you know what WTF stands for?

Mom: Of course I do - Well That's Fantastic!

IIRC-If I ReCall

It think it's If I Recall Correctly, which is usually a clue that the recall is likely to be incorrect. See any number of Flounder's uses of IIRC. :smokin: He has recall issues. :lmao: (Wait ... so do I.)

Did that translate right? Supposed to be WTF? in Russian, but there were about 5 variations on that particular phrase....all denoting various uses of WTF, and maybe all in various Russian dialects... didn't try for Serbian, Croatian (though I am sure I have heard my friends Tomas and Bence use either the Serb or Croat version of this climbing), Czech (my friend Deaun has a pretty good Czech vocabulary that he puts to good use climbing) or Yugoslavian....:lmao:
