Hi, everyone. My name is Heather and I live in Wesminster with my husband, two sons (16 and 9) and critters. Since before my first kid was born, I'd been telling myself that my "next" car would be a "convertible." Five cars and almost two decades later, I finally got my convertible a week ago - a 2003 Wrangler TJ Sport. It's bone stock, and it's white (my least farvorite vehicle color - but it's totally grown on me, and it's not like it's a Kia, and it doesn't have a Hertz sticker on it)...but we're hoping to slightly modify it for better off-roading before too long (lift, 33s). My husband is also on the lookout for my first love - a CJ-7 - for himself. He'd like one for just a toy, not a daily driver like my TJ is for me. We're selling my gorgeous, gas-sipping, super fun SVT Focus to delve deeper and quicker into the Jeep thing (well, mainly because we only have a two car garage...I'm guessing the neighbors don't appreciate that the garage is now puking vehicles).

Having lived in Colorado since 1987, I've always been peripherally aware of the off-road scene, and have been lucky enough to participate with others as a passenger on a few occasions in the past, but it wasn't until my husband got home from Iraq last July and we bought our F-150 Super Crew and took it to the Switzerland Trail the weekend after we bought it (and the weekend before the fire that wiped out everything), that the bug fully latched on. Turns out, some other friends of ours have pretty extensive experience, so we went with them a few times in September (up West of Wellington, and in Grand Lake) and October to places that I'm drawing a blank on now. On one of them we had to turn around because the truck was too much of a behemoth.

Looking forward to meeting and hanging out with fun people, and doing a lot of learning. We were told by another member about the June 18 trash dealio - we hope to make that.

Welcome! There are plenty of easy trails around to get your feet wet. With a stock jeep like that you can actually go a good majority of all the trails here in Colorado if you know what you're doing. :D

Welcome to the forum! We are down the road from you off 62nd and Pierce.

If you have any questions regarding wheeling and your jeep or trails, ask them. Someone will answer them with sensible answers.

You caught a good bug, the same one I came down with a few years ago. Welcome to FrontRange. This is a great group of wheelers willing to help out.

Wow, thank you thank you thank you, you guys! Really excited about getting into this. GREAT news that (once) I know what I'm doing, I can do a lot with stock! Need to learn, learn, learn (because I totally want to kick my husband's...well, you know). Now we're actually looking at a CJ-5 and a YJ(? 1992?), too...I love that they're not too expensive to bring home...I guess it's that "after" bit that gets expensive...

Welcome aboard. Do try to make it to the cleanup run. Your stock rig can cruise through Devil's Canyon and it'll do Barbour Fork with a little care and good spotting. :thumb:

Stick with a vehicle that is fuel injected. Unless, your husband is one of those guys who likes to tinker.
