Greetings. I'm Bruce and my FJ 60 is Bjorn. Picked up my 1984 60 in January. I have wanted one for years. My previous Toyota 4X4 was a 1999 Tacoma with flatbed and OME suspension. Loved the Tacoma but realized the limitations of the IFS. I also wanted something that could haul all of my crap and still sleep inside.

When I brought my Landcruiser home it looked like this.

My goal is to have a solid rig that will take myself and my dog Kuma fishing, camping and exploring.

After a few months she looked like this.

As of last weekend she looks like this.

So far I have.
Built a cargo box with a sliding drawer and sleeping platform.
Put on new 31" Duratrac's. Cat back exhaust with Magnaflow muffler.
Deka orbital battery. (from Checker)
Replaced cargo panels with marine grade HDPE panels.
2LO modification.
OME medium springs with MAF +1 1/2" shackles, Doetsch Tech Prerunner shocks.
New cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, air filter, etc. etc.
Spent countless hours cleaning the interior.

Still have to put on my new tie rod ends and extended brake lines. Hopefully this weekend.

Next plans are to tint the windows and pick up some new wheels. Been thinking about getting a set of stock steelies and painting them. So a trip to Yoda Jim's is on the menu for Saturday.

Also on the horizon is a new front bumper. Going to be consulting with Pete Brody this weekend on that as well.

Welcome Bruce, recognized you from the RS forum, nice to see another 60 here! I went the opposite way and sold my 62 and drive 4Runner now but I'm an old fart in need of the comfort. :D

Welcome. Is that new paint in the second pic or is it just really clean? Looks great. Can't go wrong with a 60!

That's after some Meguires cleaner wax. I can keep it looking that that for about 12 hours until the dust and rain do their work.

Hopefully this weekend. Planning a trip to Yoda Jim's and might be getting my windows tinted. So much to do, so little time.

If you are going with stock rims, you may want to throw an ad in the wanted section.

Also PM MrMatt (Matt Feeney) he may have some stock rims kicking around in his stuff. He had four FJ 60s at some point and I helped him recently with some junk. I vaguely remember seeing some extra rims when we had to move stuff in his garage.

You may also want to give Steve Brownell a call at Central Foreign Auto Parts to see what he has around that he wants to get rid of. Worth a shot.

Jim isn't open on the weekends, at least I don't think so, but he usually has a pretty good assortment of wheels down there, stock and after market. A lot of 15' rims, but not too many 16"s. I haven't had much luck finding a complete set of non bent 16" when I have checked with him, only 15" rims. He sometimes has some killer deals on sets of tires and rims, though.

So...is the avatar you have from an MRE package? The MRE heater's instructions tell you to lean it against a "rock or something".

Website says they are open from 9-3 on Saturdays. I'll give them a call to check.

If I could find a set of skinny 33's that would be nice. I'd like to have a set of 31's and some 33's. I'm sure I'll at least be able to find a good 31" spare.

Welcome to FR4x4! Nice 60!

If you're looking for 15" steelies, I have four of these sitting around. They still have tires on them, but I'd let them go cheap. Here in the Springs.

There is a land cruiser junkyard down in Salida, maybe they have some wheels and whatever else you may need.

His prices are outrageous though! Last I heard his business was still for sale if anyone's interested in a lot of cool sheet metal rusting away.

I also need to go to the YotaYard. As long as you're not going for door hinges/locks (yes Chris i'm finally starting on those half doors :D) i'd be happy to tag along.
