View Full Version : Bunce/Ironclads, Maybe LHC Memorial Day

Setting up a run for Bunce School Road and The Ironclads for Monday. Bunce School may not be open all the way down into Camp Dick and may be closed at The Meadows, about 4 miles in from the start of the trail. These trails are able to be run by stock vehicles on up.

Meeting at the very last Safeway store on the left side of the road as you go through Boulder on 28th Street. This Safeway is left of the light with Iris on the left and Hwy 119 on the right, has a Starbucks and a gas station and is found just past the O'Rielly's sign on the left side of the road. Do not confuse this Safeway with the one closer to the south end of town.

Meeting time will be 8:45 and we will be leaving the lot at 9:00 and driving to Bunce School Road trailhead via Lyons and then up South St Vrain Canyon. Anyone coming from Lyons, Loveland, Ft Collins, etc, can catch us at the Shamrock gas station in Lyons at about 9:30 if we know that people are going to meet us there. If not, we will just go through Lyons and up the canyon.

That's T-33 which is in the same vicinity.

If Bunce is closed at the Meadows, T 33 access will be closed, too.

A group of FJCs did Miller Rock on Thursday and apparently it's snowless. We could hit it, too.

Just a reminder that Monday is the Bolder Boulder run.

Getting through Boulder is going to be a cluster**** of epic proportions.

Good thinking Bruce, let's change the meeting place to Lyons so we can go around Boulder. I may have room for you Bruce if Barb chooses not to come, I don't think you want to ride in the back seat.

Edit: I'll meet you all in Lyons regardless of any changes.

I'm down for meeting in Lyons too. I'll take I-25 up instead of going up 36 to avoid going through Boulder. I would be down with Miller Rock too. Definitely doable along with Bunce and Ironclads.

I'll have an open seat too and anyone is welcome to ride along.

You'll want to take someone else up on a ride once we're at the trail (--->noob<----), but we'd be happy to get you at McCaslin!

If you are going to Lyons, get off at highway 66. It is the exit on I-25 going north after the main exit for Longmont (119). When you see the giant Richie Bros auction lot on the east side of the highway, take that next exit and go west, it takes you right into Lyons.

Yup...have fun! We have too much stuff to try to do today and LaDawn has a couple of last minute showings....
