I found a vid of bill more lake and there is a few drifts but nothing we cant get through looks pretty nice. I was seeing if the interest would be Red Elephant to mill creek and then to bill moore to the top then all the way down bill moore. This looks like it would be a fun all day run. For those that dont know it is just off of I-70 near the empire exit. Thoughts?

I might be down. I'm kind of guessing that Red Elephant won't be passable, but could be wrong too. The good news is that if that trail isn't good to go, we could always go do Saxon Mountain and then down to Cascade Creek. Evidently its clear all the way there now.

I'll have to look around a bit more and see if I can find anything else out.

lets tear it up

I'm sure you mean that metaphorically, but don't tear it up too much. :)

Doesn't look like they made it up to the top in that video. That's likely where the drifts are deepest. I know a couple of guys who did it in mid-June last year and spent several hours on the trail doing a lot of digging to get through some of the drifts.

The poster mentioned doing Red Elephant, but I have to wonder how much of it. Keep in mind that Red Elephant has some narrow, tippy shelf road action that could be tricky if there's snow on the trail, along with a couple of rock obstacles on that stretch.

Have you even called the FS there to see if the trails are open? Just curious as I haven't found anything recent on those trails. Might be a good idea to double check first.

Ive looked up the forest service reports on bill moore and etc. People have been trying to make it too the top for a while now. Those trails never close Rock Frogs ran it in January. What i mean by tear er up is just like Get er done. Iam a dedicated stay on the trail kindof guy and taking care of our environment. I just want to be the first people to the top honestly and there is no reason we cant do that with a little elbow grease and some good fun. We gotta remeber the snow fall even that area was way below the normal this year. There is gonna be some snow drift busting but that is one of the many things us michigan boys are good at doing. Along with running sand dunes and mud bogging. Also Patrol 14 is going up bill moore and were in contact with each other through email talking about the conditions up there. As of right now Red elephant should be clear to the Bill Moore hook up. Bill Moore when they ran it in may was pretty plugged up. Either way they are gonna give it hell to make it to the top. I think it would be pretty sweeet bragging rights to say Front Range 4x4 was the first ones to the top of Bill Moore for the 2011 season. If there is gonna be issues though with the run i created delete and well figure it all out.
oh yeah this is coonburger accidenty posted under my brothers name

Cool. It is always fun to get the trail busted through to the top. I have done that on Wheeler Lake and other trails more than once...or at least busted the trail out a little farther for the next guys.....
