We did a trail run up Moody Hill on Father’s Day. It was a 3+ season Colorado Day: Sun - Hot, Rain, and Hail - Cold. It was a great day even though I broke a rear drive shaft; see the Carnage in my Carnage Thread. I drove it home pulling the trailer with 2 ATV’s on the front Drive Shaft only. Chevy’s can do it all and as we all know it is hard to stop a Rhino!!! The Group was me (Bryan Red K5), Josh (Blue Toyota), Princess 1 (Wife), Son, and Princess 2 (Daughter). Josh and I Drove the rigs and the Family did it on ATV’s (They did have Rain Coats). I pull a 12” lifted ATV trailer with the K5. We did not get a lot of pics and videos, so these are what we did get. The first part of the trail is fun with a few easy rocky sections. The payoff of is the Rock Quarry at the top.

We did start in the dry but no pics. These are pics after the first light rain.

Pics of Daughter (10 year old kicking butt on a 250cc Honda and yes it is too big, but she likes the power so how can I say no) on the Yellow ATV.

Pics of the hail. There is an ATV under the black cover with hail on it.

The water and mud was fun. That is Josh on the ATV on the muddy hill.

This is Josh and I in the Rock Quarry Videos.

Josh's Rig is set up great and really Kicking Butt and Taking Names.

The K5 has a bit of a fat butt but the Horsepower helps with that!

Enjoy!!! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Thanks a bunch for posting those Bryan, I was really looking forward to seeing them. It was a really fun day hanging out with you and the family. I am pretty psyched about how good the truck is doing. Bummer about the driveshaft but I guess that stuff happens sometimes.

A cool note about this trail is that it sounds like Crystal Mountain is seemingly back open. Together they are my favorite trails in Colorado since they have something for every level of build and skill/challenge level. Views, rocks, dirt, ledges with bypasses, and some awesome playgrounds. Not 100% yet, but evidently the FS has decided not to enforce anything until they put some gates up and have marked it as open on their website. On an even cooler level, COHVCO, the FS, and the local wheeling club up there are negotiating to lease the land from the Colorado Land Board which will permanently and legally open the trail for at least the next ten years. This will be funded by OHV use passes, so if you want to support itgo purchase one (they are $26 or so dollars) .

I am definetly planning on going up there again this summer, and will be posting it up when I do.
