Great runs today with lots of folks. Lost some at after running T-33 and having a quick lunch at Camp Dick before running the plane crash trail (probably just as well; we had almost too many rigs to park at the top as it was).

For running two trails a few miles apart with a lot of rigs, it went fairly fast. Almost no spotting needed, no carnage and no breakdowns. And I didn't get us lost once.

A fantastically fun time! I rode with Chris today, instead of bringing my stock ride. That would've hurt, I think. Yeowch. From what I understand, this was Robyn's very first 4 wheeling piloting ever - and holy cow did she rock it! Her rig is awesome, and she's a great driver. Lucky girl! It was so fun to meet more people, put faces with screen names, etc.

A few more from T-33A. By the way, Heather and Aaron's son, Andy, took a lot of these photos. Thanks Heather and Andy!

Well today was interesting! Finally found you guys at the end of JPR. Then had some lunch and started up T33. Me and my buddy(the one in the CJ) were the last 2 in the bunch and after a couple the switchbacks at the beginning of the trail, my buddy had some trouble shifting his t-case, so i ran back and helped him (just told him to reverse a little- maybe 30 seconds), jump back in my Jeep and everyone is gone. Having NO IDEA where to go, since i was planning on just following the group, we just went straight for awhile hoping to find someone waiting for us. After maybe an hour of not seeing anyone familiar, not being able to reach anyone on the CB, and not having a clue on where to go, we just turned around and went home. very disappointed.... :frown:

Great run today. Both trails were really fun and it was a great group of people to wheel with. I do feel bad that ccbruin and the gang didn't catch up on T33a. I thought they were behind us. Mystery...

I am so sorry man. That shouldn't have happened. There were a LOT of rigs there and in the end, you got lost in the shuffle. No excuses though. That was a crappy situation.

Bad, bad, bad. That's why the cardinal rule is, always keep the rig behind you in sight. If it stops, everyone should stop. Sorry, Alec, that we didn't stop and help.

My fault totally. So sorry, that must have been when I pulled back in after changing my battery. Won't happen again. On another note, maybe we should do a radio check once in a while, it seemed like a lot of no-answers were happening on the CB yesterday.

We didn't get much use out of the camera. Right before it died, I got a video of Robyn (I *think* in the rocks on the way upT33A, but am not sure I remember correctly). It's kind of motion-sickness at the end because I had it zoomed and couldn't change it, sorry about that.

Here's the album with the photos (all the photos that are exceptionally cool were taken by Chris, I'm sure): https://picasaweb.google.com/blugnat/JohnnyParkAndT33AJun252011?feat=directlink

Nice and that was Robyn!

Did someone get a video of you doing the partial head stand at the end? That is quite a talent, being able to contort your body like that and still have one hand to film with...

Just giving you grief. some of my videos suck until I edit them. I have a bad habit of not turning the filming off and walking towards something, so I get really good ground footage..with the motion sickness thrown in for balance..

That is a super neat ninja trick I have. I'm invisible when I do it, so no videos. :D

Funny. LaDawn has some ninja moves too...and I don't have videos of them, either. Just the bruises to show..:D

That is not the first time that this has happened. Me and two other people got left behind on a run earlier this year. Its a shame that someone gets left behind. Wheeling alone is a very dangerous thing to do and thats why when we gop out we need to stick together. Something can happen to anyone on a trail ride no matter how new your rig is. A lot of places that we go to dont have any cell coverage and the group that your with is the only help that is around. Me and coonburger both strongly beleive in staying together and i can assure that anyone to go on a run with us WILL NOT be left behind.

funny you say this, i also happened to snap my passenger front main leaf right on the end. Luckily it was sort of wedged stuck and, very unsafe and stupid, i rode all the way home. But thank God i made it safely.

I think the lesson has been learned and everyone should be held responsible for a couple of things...
1. ALWAYS introduce yourself and at least try to say hi to as many people as you can so the group knows you are a part of it. Being shy is lame. We are all here for a common reason. I am also a big fan of if anyone wants to tag along, let them and make them feel like they are part of the group. It sends a positive message about FR4x4.
2. If you say you have a CB, make sure it works and is tuned. I currently have a CB, but it is a POS, so I make it clear that I do NOT have a CB. I will get it fixed. Maybe this should be a "mandatory rule" for future runs? I understand that we are all adults and no one needs a Mother Hen looking over them. Even if your CB is out, your horn should work and two quick beeps would get the person in front of you to at least take note.

Now then, I had a great time! It was great to meet new faces and catch up with old ones. I think Rob did a great job leading the run. Thank You Rob! Here are the few pics I took...

Sounds like we need to have a pre-run debrief about basic rules and such. I know there are quite a few new people on the forum, and many are very new to offroad wheeling and may not know the general etiquette. It is also helpful to decide on who is leading and who is tail gunning, making sure there is a some communication between them, and then spreading the better equipped vehicles out so that its fairly easy to get a winch or at least a strap onto someone who needs help.

FYI, I did a prerun meet, knowing we had some new members on the run, and emphasized the No. 1 rule that you don't lose sight of the rig behind you. We had a lead and tail, both with CBs, but with so many rigs, I think Aaron and I were so far apart we were out of range of each other. Even with CBs, with so many rigs, it's imperative that Rule No. 1 is followed.

Just an FYI. I cleaned up the thread. I left a few from the "left behind" subject so that a) we remember and learn and b) so that it doesn't look like we brushed it under the rug. However, I think we have beat the subject to death like we like to do...:horse:

Oh, and beer is on Scrat! I deleted that post but I'm sure he said that :)

I highly doubt ya'll wanna see 70 on here.

I'm sure everyone would be fine with just posting pics of that brown FJ40. :D

Keith, thanks for the series of shots on that one obstacle. I hadn't tackled that angle before (frankly, I wasn't sure the 40 would do it) and it's good to see it in pics.
