Called them a week ago about our bundle package still not giving us our savings for the cell phones, after the usual round and round I remembered that they were supposed to upgrade our internet speeds in the area a year ago and have not heard anything about it. The very nice lady on the other end tells us they we can go upto 12 for the same price we are paying now. I asked if my current modem will still work and yes is the answer so we set the day to upgrade is Tuesday 6-28-11. Well Tuesday was going good that morning and later in the afternoon I come home and there is a notice from a tech that the job was completed! 1st no one said that a tech would be out and 2nd how did they come in with the dog in the yard and gate paddalocked? Lo-n-behold there is no internet light on the modem when I turn the modem on. I go to call them and what the? the phone is so staticy I can't barely hear the lady on the other end.
Long story short, I ended up having to get a new modem to work on their new FiberTech system, and had to setup a appointment for a tech to figure out what is going on with the phone static. The modem arrived yesterday morning and the tech was schedule for between 8 & 12 am, well the tech was a no show and the modem would not program. So today I am calling to complain about the services with both issues and if they do not accomodate me somehow I am cancelling both the home phone and internet with them.

HAHA.....not the first time for that stuff, either. We had QWest problems where the 'tech' was supposed to install/fix stuff and nothing happened. We called Qwest, they said he was done. No one came to the house, went into the house or did anything else, but the 'tech' reported that he had completed the install and that everything was hunky dory. Took a few calls before we actually got someone out to fix the problem.
We know someone that works at Qwest and they said that a couple of the local Qwest offices had just let some 'techs' go who were reporting jobs completed when they had gone home to watch TV instead of doing their job. How stupid can people be? Qwest puts GPS units into their trucks to find out where their 'tech' people are and where they have been. The people that got fired were presented with proof from their GPS units that they were at home the days that they reported being at work in the field.

Well the tech not showing is the least of the problems. This is the second modem they have sent to me that 1 did not include a disc after they said it would have one and 2 it is also the second modem that won't load therefore I can only get online while at work.

It's going to get worse too, once the Century Link integration is complete!

New name, same shitty service. I wonder how many people they think they are going to fool with the name change?
I know a few Qwest employees who think that Century bit off more than they can chew with the acquisition of Qwest. I guess we will have to wait and see...
Like banks and a few other entities, I remain singularly unimpressed with either the quality of the product or the "service". I also don't especially like talking to someone who can neither speak nor understand simple English when you are trying to resolve an issue. I find it insulting, to say the least, and as soon as I get a foreign accent on the phone when dealing with crap, the first thing I say is, " Put someone on the phone who speaks English."

Lol. We had qwest back when we were renting 4 years ago and would never go back. Unfortunately, Comcast isn't much better in the Service arena... Cells phones only now.

Quest is awesome
AT SUCKING!!!:D
I switched from Comcast to Quest and could write a couple paragraphs on how much they blew for the one month I gave them a shot. A bad economy isn't enough to get a lot of companies to clean up their act.

So does this mean that "middle aged" the ages need to be lowered to somewhere around 30-50 now?:lmao:
On another note got the modem squared away yesterday morning first thing and I need to do the laptop setup now so Val can have it back and be off my computer.

What is the difference between a 90 year old and a 20 year old?
DEPENDS
What does a 90 year old woman have between her breasts that a 20 year old woman doesn't?
Her naval.
No, age related comments don't bother me. I just double up my vodka shots in my Metamucil and crass, un caring comments from people who show no respect for their elders simply roll off my balding pate...Ooooops...gotta go grab another Depends....
