Has anyone ever heard of a place called Ladybug Hill up around Boulder? My granddad (81yrs) keeps talking about this trail he ran back in the day. Way back in the day when he was a member of the Mile High Jeep Club when it had about 15 members total. I have looked on maps with no luck. I think it may have been a slang name for the trail.

Could be this hiking trail near NCAR,
http://books.google.com/books?id=G6FxmKLQAcwC&pg=PA234&lpg=PA234&dq=ladybug+hill+boulder&source=bl&ots=R61BI9y05d&sig=XDcp581ZWg7BVOL_pyOgr8SWAsA&hl=en&ei=1hoyTpqhO-PTiAKPzpy6CA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=9&ved=0CEoQ6AEwCDgK#v=onepage&q=ladybugs&f=false
That would probably be before the NCAR building was built in the 1960s.

There's a Lady Bug Mine near Jamestown. County Road 87 and 87J, off James Canyon Drive, head up toward it. There're a couple of FS spurs off 87J.

Leave it to you to find an obscure trail at home on your computer, however get you on the trail in the lead and you get everyone lost, go figure! :lmao:

THANKS GUYS! Those are probably the best options. I wish my granddad's memory was not so shotty. It sounds like a cool place. Getting old sucks.
