I apologize in advance for no pics.

The current tattoo on my back was done 10 years ago by a friend. He was a great artist and apprenticing at a tattoo shop. Needless to say he didn't do a great job and didn't share my vision of what I wanted.

For a long time I have thought about getting it finished or covered. The key was finding the $$$ and artist to do it. I have decided to take a little break from spending all my $$$ on the Landcruiser and get it done.

This is the artist that will be doing the work.

Put down a deposit for drawing and such so in 2 weeks I begin my sessions. Excited.

Good to hear Bruce. I'm getting more added onto my half sleeve next Wednesday up in Boulder.

Well I have survived the first session. The old dragon is obscured and the new is outlined. I'll still need to go in for scales and shading. Tats on the back hurt. The design leaves me the option of making it larger if I so desire. I can have more done further down my back but will probably have some work done on my right arm which will be easier to handle.

Now you get to see pics of my scummy back.

Free hand drawing of the new tat.

Some mirror image shots from this morning. Used a silicon basting brush to put the Aquaphor on my back.

Next session will be the scales, details and more shading. The cloud shading that covered my original tat was quite excrutiating. I was happy it didn't take much longer than it did.

Yeah cover ups are more painful, so how long did this take so far?

I'm sure sleeping on that is a treat.
