I just replace my wires and plugs on my Land rover. What a JOB! Take the whole intake off. Ugggg

The spark plugs sparking on the outside on only the 1# and 7# plugs. This makes my rig undrivable. No other plug is having this issue.

I went with E3 plugs and Omni spark wires.

So is it Gap on the plug or the Plug wires are bad?

any one have a scanner down in Chatfield area?

first guess is that you used E3's hate to tell ya. only plugs i ever use are NGK, nothing beats em. are you sure the wire boots are all the way on?

first off the E3 is one of the worst plugs you can put in your car. They are a 50/50 chance of actually working correctly and seems more then not they fail. They work the best for small lawn equipment and putting them in a Land Rover is probably the worst plug to use. Stick to the original equipment and upgrade from that plug that is the best combination. Rule of thumb for spark plugs are.. Champion-Mopar, ACDelco-GM, Motorcraft-Ford, Bosch-european cars, NGK-Import cars from japan(though used in the right application can run best in a lot of different vehicles. but thats just my :2c: that's from working in the shops and auto parts store. you have no idea how many E3 I have had to warrantied because they screwed up the first 10 minutes of driving the car. But can be a torn boot as well.

Audi uses NGK in ALOT of applications as well. I would geuss you have a torn boot, if you have to go back in there replace your plugs with a Bosch or NGK, that is what I put in mine.

I work at one of those Checker/Oreilly stores and am sorry they sold you one of those plugs. I don't like o reilly much personally and as an employee there you realize that all they want you to do is sell, and E3 are pretty expensive plugs like 6.99 or 5.99 a plug. Even though I work there I don't sell junk to people regardless of what they want me to sell. And I highly do NOT recommend those plugs for ANY vehicle! NGK or Bosch would probably be the best, and like the others said NGK are very amazing plugs and even though commonly used in japanesse cars. I have ran them in my 88 trans am, have had customers use them on their jeeps and ford motors and they work amazing. For standard plug the V power is a pretty great plug or the G power platinum! They do run well in jeeps, but I think champions run a little better. But yes most likely a boot. While in there see if you can get them warrantied and get some different plugs before putting it all back together:wrench:

Just don't use the Bosch Platinum. Bosch Platinum plugs have tiny center electrodes and are known to cause all sorts of issues with Rover engines. I would also upgrade to 8mm wires from http://www.kingsborne.com/

personally I recommend NGK on all my rovers.

Bosch Platinum is what I was sold the secound time. Good News is that I have not installed them and can take them back.

Where is the best place to get NGK? and what name ( V_power, G-power, ect) NGK's do you use?
