I can only guess whats going on and truly don't care but this reminds of a set of basic rules I live by and make abundantly clear to everyone that I spend any amount of physical (not virtual) time with.
1. don't talk, touch or look at my son wrong (period)
2. don't touch my dog
3. don't touch any of my Rovers
4. my wife can take care of herself but, If you can steal her.... take her.
Above and beyond this all, is immaterial and people waste too much time on the little things.

:lmao: Good set of rules Joe!

I think 99% of the people here agree with the quoted part for certain!

I live by a similar set of rules...
Don't ever get him wet
Keep him away from bright light.
And the most important thing, the one thing you must never forget: no matter how much he cries, no matter how much he begs . . . never, never feed him after midnight.

Ask the mods what happened to a long time and loyal family member.
I'll bite. What happened?
I too thought this club belonged to the members. I agree mods are necessary and editing is necessary but editing to put up a front that we never have differing opinions sounds more like a dictatorship.
I know Josh is not everyones cup of tea but in any community you are going to find that. I think some explanation is in order. Not just, he is gone.

Ok, here's the deal.
First, I will not talk about why Josh is no longer here. Since he is no longer here, it does not give him the chance to reply and that is not a position I'm going to put anyone in... It's not up to me to air anything about anyone based upon discussions that happen in private. I hope you will all appreciate if any of you leave, voluntarily or not, the same will be true for you. This does, however, put me in the difficult position of not being able to defend the actions I take.
Secondly, this is a community of people who are here to have fun and wheel. It is not, however, a leaderless community. Call it a dictatorship, rule by the elite, whatever you want but there are rules and those rules were established long before I was a member. They were established so that this club would be different from the rest. I gain nothing other than enjoyment (today excluded) from this club. I don't make money (to the contrary I assure you). I don't get a sick sense of power. I spend time trying to make this place better and sometimes I have to make difficult or unpopular decisions. Let me assure you that I do my best to make sure that any decision which is made is made in the best interest of the club. Getting back to the point, however, if we all just remember that we are here to have fun and wheel, the drama goes away and the world is a better place.
You're all a part of this club because it is different than the others. It is a place you can go without drama about makes, models and skill levels. There's no flaming. It's about the common hobby we all enjoy. It's mine and the other mods job to keep it that way.
Please feel free to PM me if you want anything else from me on the subject. I'm going to have a beer.

Bummers, Josh is a good guy. His truck was one of the reaons I got back into Toyotas. His knoledge and input will be missed around the board.
I'm sure the mods have good reasons for banning him though. I can't emagine that they take this sort of thing lightly.

I like to think of it as a benevolent dictatorship. :smokin:

I have to believe this, too. Having owned and operated (with the help of a team) a not-related hobby vBulletin board a few years back, I know first hand how difficult moderation/expulsion can be. Even though it sucks (for more than just the involved), sometimes, it just can't be avoided.

This does, however, put me in the difficult position of not being able to defend the actions I take.
You do not have to defend the actions you take to anyone. Having been in many positions over the years where I had many people (up to 60) I was either managing, direct employees, both, or just as a job superintendent, when you are in certain positions, you simply do not have to defend, or, for that matter, justify your decisions to anyone other than yourself. People will either deal with it or not. After you make your decision, whatever it is, it ceases to be your problem.

This has been a long time coming since ive came here ive noticed there are some people here that just don't get along well with each other which is cool were not a bunch of hippies were a bunch of crazy wheeling mofos were bound to hit heads time to time. When you get people that have to be in control and have flashbacks to highschool when they were picked onand shoved into garbage cans. You are going to have issues but whammy. i think in light of this we need to discuss and get some stuff out there that needs to be fixed for the betterment of the group.
1. just cause your the trail "Boss" doesnt mean u can boss people around iam sorry were all adults ask and you shall receive, be a tool and well fill in your own
2. people getting taken advantage of because they dont know better and i didnt go point fingers before people start throwing rocks through my windows. This is what really upsets me the most. and you know who u are.
3. Even mods and up being able to admit their faults and correct them instead of denying they ever happend. This also go to members as well.
4. go back to number 2 and take a good look in the mirror seriously.................
5. There are consitantly people on the forum that are well a pain in the ass to get along with because they think they are the alpha male and know it all. If people gotta ask me for names really get on the forum more. Refer back to #2.
Ill see josh again since he is part of outkasts 4x4 on facebook if his friends wanna get ahold of him just to shoot the **** or get a lil tipsy.

This whole dictatorship and iam da furher is kindof disturbing seriously.
Wow, that's a bit strong, don't you think?
Pete's point is that when you are in position of leadership, weather it's paid or volunteer, sometimes you will have to make decisions that not everybody will like; and when you do, you have to use your best judgement based on all the info you have and move on regardless of what others will think.

I'll miss seeing Haku's posts on here, I have never met him, but I have never seen a negative post from him or about him before now.
Is this a "family fued" that can be worked out? I know I have been dis-owned by my eldest sister for the simple reason that I voted differently from her in the last presidential election.

I hope I offend nobody here because for the mere fact I am quite neutral, and because of my quite neutral stand, because of meeting no one but Brody, I can honestly say this is a whole lot of drama, that I, personally feel, is not at the best interest of the nature of this club. I feel a lot of the back and fourth should be taking place between PM"s.
I truly dread the thought of an individual who is in search of a wheeling club here and now, because he/she is not going to like what they are reading, I know I would be scared. "Drama, Drama, read all about it." Good thing is, while I have never wheeled and/or met most of you, I know what this club is about, because of lurking in the shadows and then coming fourth, which is a whole lot of people sharing the same passion and forming close friendships. In addtion, the synchronization like moving body parts-you have mods, planners, spotters, mechanics, masters at wheeling-years of experience, which is like an open Wheeling Bible, and then..............you have the men who keep all this going. Truly without these men stepping up to the plate, taking upon themselves to make decisions, like Aaron, this club would fail. I feel, everyone needs to express what they feel as to this individual receiving the banstick, but come on, are we not men and women-no longer raving children, just because something affected us. Show Aaron who is in not dictator but one of leadership, who is following the rules (which everyone agreed to even become active in introduction and posting) to make all go smoothly, show him respect and e-mail him privately, and spare the new person who is looking at all this wondering what the yeck? Just my :2c:.

If it truly was an issue between Josh & Pete, it's really their issue, not ours. I know we're curious and all but some things we're just not privy to the details, nor do we really, actually, need to be. That being said, I've wheeled with both of them & enjoyed wheeling with both of them. What more needs to be said about this out in the open forum? I doubt it'll do any of us any good to continue this.

I think all of this can be summed up in the fact that we are all here voluntarily; no one is forcing you to be here so we shouldn’t complain about the rules set forth by the club because we all agreed with them when we joined.

Well said! What I really like about FR4x4 is that is is the most friendly forum I'm a member of. No need to worry about being flamed or getting some stupid answer when you ask a question. This is a very supportive and positive place where people with common intrests came come together.
I'd also suggest that issues with leadership be taken up via PM or e-mail with the leader/mod in question. If that doesn't work and we don't like the way things are run......we all know where the door is. (I'm not saying I want people to leave, I like this place the way it is!)

I think the passion shown here proves Josh was a very appretiated member of our community. I have been in charge of and been a member of several car clubs. After the last one I vowed "never again!" as I hate the drama. I changed my mind because being on the side of the mountain with my whole families lives on the line I felt I needed someone with us to spot us through the very dangerous realm that can be 4 wheeling.
Example A:
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c112/flipswitch/44-Brad.jpg
Some of us are more closely attached to certain members than others.
I spoke with Josh recently and was informed of some sort of old feud with Pete. I was told by several other members that Pete and Josh did not get along or see eye to eye on everything.
While I think Josh's comments about Pete may have been out of line or possibly even motivated by past experiences, I also believe we all make mistakes or errors in judgement. I have pointed out some concerns with Aaron about Pete as well. And while I have the upmost respect for Pete I think he comes off a little harsher than I would like to see out of a moderator. I know he is very open to criticism and takes it very well. I also think in this case it was blown WAY out of proportion and we have now lost a good member of our community.
I have personal memories with alot of members on here and would never want to be kicked out but after seeing this I am honestly afraid of saying 1 wrong thing to a moderator and sharing the same fate. I can be very strong headed about my opinions, I have learned this about myself and find myself self editing prior to posting. Noone likes walking on eggshells.
Having said that I am willing to move on and get back to wheeling fun. I only ask that this be handled better in the future. Possibly a private forum only members can view and weigh in on this type of concern.

Can't we all just get along? I hate seeing this crap.
Not everyone in the world can get along with everyone else. Pete is a hard-headed, don't pull any punches kind of guy. I have no problem with that. Josh was a cool guy too that I never had any problems with. Both are fun to run trails with or just shoot the breeze with.
I guess my only thought is that if you can dish it out you should be able to take it too. I have no idea what really is going on or has gone on that precipitated all of this. My only suggestion would be to calm down and let cooler heads prevail and then decide if someone should be banned or invited back.
Rehashing everything in another thread isn't really going to help anyone.

I was talking to my wife about the morning news the other day, and we decided it should be called "Personal tragedies from around the world" instead of "The News", and we wondered why all the stations only show stories of things going wrong, is that really what people want to see... so tonight I'm looking at what's new on this site, and as I write this this thread is about 7 hours old and has almost 3800 views. About 12 hours ago another member posted that he found out he doesn't have lung cancer; almost up to 100 views.

This thread has so far made me go to the store and by at least 20 new age self help books, all the Enquirer style rags that I can find, People magazine, and even a Cosmo or two. I do feel better after reading all of them..especially the Cosmopolitan stuff. I never knew what turned on guys before....
And I happened to be not only one of the 100 views on Sean's thread, but actually managed to tear myself away from this "Days of Our Lives" **** to reply....
