Does anyone know if there's a trail up the backside of Gross Dam Reservoir in Boulder any longer? I looked on Trail Damage under "Gross Dam" and didn't see anything, and when I Googled, it mentions a "Jeep trail" but I couldn't find any info. Maybe it has a different name, or doesn't exist any more? Thought it made sense to ask about it here. I went wheeling there a loooong (long) time ago and am curious to see how it looks now compared to what it seemed like then.

AFAIK the road is still closed. I went up there 4th of July weekend to go fishing. They are building campgrounds on the west side.

Whaaaa???? Next thing you know, they'll be letting you take boats on the reservoir. Oh,....wait, they do that now, too. What's the city and county of Boulder coming to, Reality????

Yes, but it was the city of Boulder that did not want to allow boats, If memory serves. And no boats were allowed on there for YEARS. I've actually paddled from the damn to the inlet in an inflatable, with the wife. Oi vei, what a day that was.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Pretty sure it's still closed. But, your best bet is to call the local ranger district for stuff like this. :)

Or you could check the Road Status page on the Boulder Ranger District's website (http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/!ut/p/c5/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gjAwhwtDDw9_AI8zPyhQ oYAOUjMeXDfODy-HWHg-zDrx8kb4ADOBro-3nk56bqF-RGGGSZOCoCAPi8eX8!/dl3/d3/L2dJQSEvUUt3QS9ZQnZ3LzZfMjAwMDAwMDBBODBPSEhWTjJNMD AwMDAwMDA!/?navtype=&cid=stelprdb5300731&navid=110000000000000&pnavid=&ss=110210&position=Not%20Yet%20Determined.Html&ttype=detail&pname=Arapaho2520) and find this:
Winiger Ridge/Gross Reservoir
NFSR 355B
Closed until Spring 2012. See Order 10-01-2011-04 and map
I think the road number is wrong though. FS 355 is West Magnolia. The MVUM shows the trails west of the reservoir as 359.

Oooh, cool. Thanks for the info (everybody)! You always have such cool tidbits, Rob. Even if it's still wisest to cross-check with the Ranger, it's so cool to know where to find this stuff.
