Sorry I just felt the need to vent. This recent weather change has produced a lot of the same up here in Boulder: snow, crappy driving, and complaint-filled Californians.

Last year we had at least an entire week of subzero temperatures during classes. I.e. up at 7am, out for class at 7:45am while it's at least -10 out.

It's still in the double digits (barely) and I've already heard a handful of people (most from LA, or somewhere in California) complaining about how cold it is outside....c'mon people, it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better. We aren't even done with week 1 of December.

It's amazing how some of these kids were under the impression it wasn't going to get cold....in a mountain town....in colorado....

alright,

I'm with you Jackie, I came here to escape that miserable cold and last I checked it was warmer there.

See Matt, it's not just Californians!

But at least you guys don't actively (as far as I know :D) complain about it....it's like every 15 minutes with these kids.

You guys at least expect it to get cold, it's like they don't.

I can start, can't I? Hell, I can whine with the best of 'em....

I didn't work in the garage today because it was sooooo cold! And my little feet and little hands became numbie...I had to pee and couldn't find...well....OK...found it, but it took awhile...I never knew that it would be this cold....

BACK IN 15 if I am not frozen solid!

Tolerance decreases with age!

I just found out my youngest granddaughter, all glitter, dresses, bows, all dainty little girl loves the snow and cold. Her rough & tumble sister and brothers come in way before she will.

HA...was when your folks hucked you out the door and locked it behind you because you were driving them nuts is more like it...and you simply had to find something active to do so as not to freeze...Call it 'fun' if you like...

You want to get really depressed? I can whip up a quick list w/o giving it a thought!

Oh wait a second, what was I saying?

That would be number 2 on the list! :erm:

Dual monitor computer and the second monitor rolls through trip pix, while showing temps around here and back home... A tad warmer back home, discounting the California (highway 1) image in the background.

`head'n out for a movie. No cold issues there.

Fort Collins 3F, Littleton 1F, St. Charles IL 36F, Rockford IL 34F

LOL - hmmm to find a theater with 12vDC plugs in the armrests!!

Not to beat a dead horse - but those electrically heated garmets are fantastic keeping one warm. If anyone wishes to try the jacket when out on a run - just holler - I'm willing to lend it out so you can give it a try. Once you try it you'll know how well they work. Temp control knob sits on the center console and I turn it up or down as I desire. 7p movie and it's 7p - later!

Might as well add "bermuda shorts and sandals with knee-high dress socks."

I am loving the cold, when i was working on a presentation at 12am this morning i saw it was only 1 degree outside and got soo excited i ran out to go stand in it and enjoy the fresh air. The cold is much more comforting to me than heat... i dont say its cold until its -10... on the other hand anything over 75 and im constantly complaining its too warm. Dislike the heat!

There can't be a post about cold to which I won't reply. It is almost expected by a few members.

I hate cold. It IS cold. So it is not frigid bone-biting North Atlantic cold. It's all relative. I am cold and I love summer. Sometimes more like a reptile than a mammal in my temp regulation. I only complain here though, on threads like this, because when it gets this cold, I feel bad for the homeless kids and adults out in in. This kind of cold kills people off regardless of whether it is "really cold" or "not cold enough to complain about". I am fortunate not to be out in it.

Movie, J. Edgar, was so/so. Surprised to NOT see negative temps now back at the keyboard. Zero in Littleton, so perhaps soon a neg will show.

Just posting here to say I enjoy seeing Funrover's avatar... Sparks the wanderlust to see what's over the next hill and around the next bend... Summer's coming and the top will be down!

Nicely said, Pathrat!

I once hitchhiked from northern New Hampshire to Seattle in January, straight across the top of the US. It got sporting more than a couple of times as I was camping out every night...It also got very cold.

Yeah, the sub/single digit temps tend to start killing people off and being out in the street in these temps is rough...

Im a fan of the cold, you can always put more cloths on and start a fire and such to get warm. But theres only so much you can do once the temps start reachin 80+. I cant stand the heat, ill take the cold any day. However its only 14 degrees out right now where i am at, and im walking around in short sleeves and jeans :)

Cold was yesterday @ 7:00 pm standing next to a partially completed window setting the last couple pieces of glass. My two guys that were outside on the lift all day, they were cold.

Run around naked and go swim in the pond in the back yard. At least that's what I used to do when it got to hot on the farm. When I was 10. As far as adding more clothes when it gets cold. I don't think I want to run around like the kid from A Christmas Story.:D

And Britton walks around all day in shorts and a t-shirt. (Even the neighbors look at him funny). Then he comes home and without fail proclaims "it's hotter than hell in here" (because I've upped the thermostat to 70). :erm:

Winter I think we're at 68-70...but we sleep with the fan on in the bedroom. With three dog bodies in bed with us, it gets hot quick!
