I know I can never remember series and parallel when doing battery wiring and few folks asked about wiring up dual batterys so here are a couple diagrams;

Parallel Wiring; Wiring batteries in parallel is hooking up all the positive terminals together and all the negatives together it does not change the overall voltage but it does increase the amperage and amperage storage.

Series Wiring; Wiring series is hooking the positive of the first battery to the negative of the next battery, it adds the voltage value of the batteries together without increasing the amperage.

The following diagrams show how 2, 6, and 12 volt batteries are connected for 12 (http://www.advancedenergysolution.com/Resources/diagrams.htm#12), 24 (http://www.advancedenergysolution.com/Resources/diagrams.htm#24), and 48 volt (http://www.advancedenergysolution.com/Resources/diagrams.htm#48) operation.
