For those of you that don't know, My wife and I have been going through the foster system for the past 3 years and finally got certified in June.
Our purpose for this was to initially adopt kids out of the foster system and possibly in the future be foster parents as well.
Well, on Sunday night, we got a call for 1 and 6 yo kiddos.
Monday came and we became the "legal guardians" of Anthony (6) and Izik(22mo).
We are completely exhausted and running on fumes, but are the happiest we've ever been.
We have no idea how long we will have to care for them, but we are hoping for a very permanent time period. :D

Way cool. Was involved in doing foster care for kids for years. Is hard work, but very rewarding as well.

Congratulations Danny! It's the best exhaustion you'll ever experience, great that you're part of the foster care program, "your kids" are very fortunate!

I am an adopted child. I was ten years old, "when I became a Gardner". Reading something like this brings tears to my eyes and etc, etc..... I don't know you personally, but I truly admire your character for doing something like this. Thank you for having that kind of love in your heart.

Bill, thanks for you kind words.
We would love to have kids and since the natural way isn't playing out, we see this as the best place to look, as these kids are the most in need of a loving home.
I have been amazed at the amount of people around me that have been touched in one way or another, by the adoption process.

Kudos to you and your wife. I'm so happy for those kids and can't wait to meet them out wheeling with you this spring!
One of my sisters and her husband adopted a boy and a girl from Korea many years ago. (We know one was born to a 16 yo girl and the other was a "dumpster" baby).
Both are college graduates today! Really - all kids need is a loving home. :GroupHug:

Congrats!!!!! Are they biological brothers.
They are half brothers.
Thanks for all the comments guys(and girls)!
We have been in contact with their extended family and unfortunately it may be great for them, not as much for us.
:(
We will enjoy caring for them for as long as we can, but wish it could be permanent.

So sorry to hear the "hint" of curve-balls. Are the bio-parents trying to get them back?
I truely admire what you and your wife are doing. I cannot imagine a more challenging life experience. I'm sure that even in this short period of time, you have come to love those little boys. Be proud of what you have done!

The bio mom and step dad(younger's dad) have been keeping the olders dad and all the family out of the loop(didn't even know they had left the state months ago). The older's dad is a good guy and actually has partial custody already(illegal to move out of state without permission when there is joint custody).

Paul has summed it up so the same from me! :superhero: to those kids.
I would like to do the same, but don't have enough bedrooms right now. I know who to talk to later though.
