Hi All!
I thought I would let you all know that my friend and myself have started a business doing backflow testing and repair.
Our Company is called Front Range Backflow Specialists.
A backflow assembly is a device that many municipalities are requiring to be installed between the city water line and any place of residence or commercial building's water system. They basically prevent the undesired reverse flow of potentially contaminated water into the city's water system.
I am licensed and insured to test the function of these units and this is the service we are offering.
If you ever get a letter from the city that requires you to get your assembly tested or installed, please give me a call and I will take care of all of our members.
Thank you,
C.R.

C.R., cool thanks for the info. Loveland Ski Resort was in need of this service a couple months ago. If I have any other calls for this service, I will put them in contact with you. Eventually, everyone who receives water via a municipality, will have to get these inspections done annually. Castle Rock already requires this. An idea for you is to call water districts in your area and ask about the backflow test requirements, then you could print up flyers for a specific neighborhood, and businesses:).

Back flows can be prett nasty, mine failed when I lived in MN along with another malfunction resulting in 300+ gallons on water in my basement. That wasn't fun!

Good luck with the new venture CR!

Thanks Paul and Pete.
right now I am working on getting my name on the different municipality's letters that they send to consumers. I have also purchased some domain names before they get taken, so hopefully have a website to diect people to soon.
I will gather some info and send it to you.
Thanks

Hope it works out for you guys, there definitely is money to be made in that field, I let my certification go a few years back because I was no longer working in our maintenance shop. I enjoyed doing the testing of the BFPs.

Chris you are lucky it was only 300 gallons! If some of those go into full dump, you can be looking at 300 plus gallons per minute.
Sean, you are right about money being there. It is like getting into a marijuana dispensary about 5 to 6 years ago. Let me know if you ever get back into it, we might be looking at hiring help soon...

We just wanted to say thanks to CR for his services at Cottonwood Ridge! We needed the backflow tested, contacted his company, and got all the stuff done in a very fast, courteous and prompt manner!

We also needed a sprinkler tech and services for all the common area and individual sprinkler system stuff here in our cute little subdivision and he is working (I try to saty out of this stuff) on pricing for that.

We couldn't recommend a better guy!
