Reading Paul's experience and other's responses is what this is about. I'd like to hear who has had Good experiences from their insurance companies after filing a claim. I don't care if their response time, customer service, helpfulness in writing a policy, etc. I want to know just about good experiences after filing a claim.
I do realize this may be a very short thread! :erm:
I can't contribute because we were covered by Barb's employer and always had fantastic experiences.

Ive been with USAA for 24 yrs and never had a problem with a claime(house or auto) 9 yrsago I called in a claim for Hail dmg on my truck and 5 days later had a check in the mail for 1500.00 no questions asked. 2yrs later I turned in a claim on my house for a new roof and was told to get 3 estimates, I turned them in and got a check for 15,000.00(total time 8 days w/ estimates) Maybe I'm just lucky but I wouldnt go anywhere else.:2c:

I have had great experiences with both Hartford and Amica insurance companies.
Filed claims with home and auto with both.

I have American Family, they are great about calling back, my mom rolled her jeep and they paid for everything. and my mom got 4000 for the totaled car and bought her current trooper. They also handled the roof repairs in a timely manner. we usually have had to only wait a couple of days to clear everything up. Most of the time we hear back from our claims manager within the hour. and it was the cheapest car insurance for my mom and I.

x2 on USAA. I've had them since I was 20 and never ad an issue. Filed claims at fault and not at fault. Always speedy and great attitudes. I use them for all my banking, insurance, etc needs.

Another vote for USAA, when my truck was stolen, and then recovered they were prompt and gave me a fair price.

I've never had a problem with GEICO on our vehicles. But they did make me drop Casey from our plan after she got busted speeding (a second time) in a school zone.
They took her back on, but made her take out her own policy (about $2 more per month). No big deal.

We've been with Farmers for over 20 years. Two roofs due to hail, two totalled cars due to the same hail. A multitude of comp claims, collision with animal, glass, etc. One motorcycle claim where my buddy dropped my bike in a parking lot and caused nearly $5k in damage. Everything paid timely and without question.

What's your job Blake if you don't mind me asking? My wife worked for The St. Paul now Travelers for most of her working life.

Good to know Blake, is Farmers more conservative than the old St Paul? Never thought any company was but I'm not familiar with personal lines.

Never had any problems with American Family, especially were great when the wife was in her accident in our Commander last year. We got more than they initially figured for the totaling of it, the adjuster was awesome to say the least. My agent has been a good friend as well, even answers any questions I have about other policies, possible claims, and future business ideas. And I have heard horror stories about almost all insurance companies, listen to Tom Martino and you will hear what I am talking about.
Chris(the elder) I think Blake posted up in the member services section, FYI.

I work for Farmers Insurance they are a very conservative company. I can tell you right now there will always be people who have had a bad experience with company X and there will always be people who have had great experiences with company X, it just depends on who you ask.
Another good one for USAA. I deal with them both personally and from the repair side through the shop. They pay the fastest, the most, and the most willing to work with the shop and insurer. I will always be a usaa customer.

Thanks to everyone who said USAA, they weren't even on my radar until this morning when I read this thread. The website looks great, we're going to run numbers through them for auto, home and health insurance today. It's telling that I'm getting better insurance help from FR4x4 than from Statefarm... :lmao:

I've had Shelter Insurance for about 18 years. I have never had any problems, and they are very quick to take care of me in an accident. They have been very fair in settling the claim quickly and satisfactorily for me.

I thought USAA was just for Military Veterans and their Families?
turns out you are correct, we found that out after scratching the surface... but as it turns out they are the same company as progressive, they have a link to them on their site. Progressive it is!

If you have family members or friends who served or are currently serving you may be accepted. I'm a veteran, along with several others I'm sure, who would let you use our name as a reference

I tried to get on with USAA and they said that when I was in service there was no conflicts going on so I did not qualify as a vet to have their insurance! Their home page states for all military present and past. I do not understand that at all.

I have had USAA for more than 20 years. They handle my mortgage too.
12 years ago, after a spotless driving record, I had an accident that totaled my car, an alleged hit and run (I will swear to this day I hit no one, I am not like that) and a number of tickets, all in one year. I got dropped for six months. Otherwise, I do not have issue but I don't have many claims either.
Today I just had to sign up with Progressive, through USAA, to get coverage for Hunter's vehicle when he delivers pizza. They insist on a commercial/delivery policy or if there is an accident, no coverage is allowed. So we get to pay $1900 a year for a $2500 car. Really?

If reading right a lot happened in 1 year am I correct??? ill stop there until i hear more

Stephanie, the rates are not to cover the car per say, you need collision coverage for that, the ins. is for whomever he hits, and if he is a delivery guy, the chances of an accident just increased to some extent. Another factor is Hunter's age, then you get into the driving records of the family as a whole.

I agree with Paul, it's all about Hunter's increased liability exposure and his age. It really sucks but I'm glad you're biting the bullet.

I have been with Geico for about 7-8 years I think and have had no issues with them. have made a few claims and I would have to say in was a fairly good experience. the only thing that I will not do again is use the shops that they suggest to use again. the shop that repaired my Jeep last year after I got rear ended did a terrible job
