It was not to bad of a drive(25 miles) last night going to work, but this morning was a knuckle grabbing drive especially when the S10 Blazer in front of me went 3/4 of the way around the wrong way up the hill on I25 towards 84th Ave. Luckily me and the folks behind gave him plenty of room. I got to our main St. and it was deep enough that the bottom of the car was dragging on the snow. As luck would have our good ol city of Thornton surprised the "umf" out of me for the 1st time since we moved here they actually had a front end loader going up the side streets clearing a path which is awesome except now I have to go dig over two feet of snow from away from the car to get it out and take my daughter to pick up her car. But just happy the city is doing this!!!!

Im always a little bummed out when the plows come through our streets, I like making tracks in fresh snow. I like to shovel a big pile of snow in front of my driveway so I can bust through it on my out, It never gets old.:D

About my same thoughts, Bryan. I just had to do a bunch of errands and ran them in the bone stock Cherokee with regular old street tires.....in 2WD...I haven't stuck any rig I have been driving in Colorado in 4WD since I got here in 1970 in 4WD in the city more than once or twice. Mountains, sure, a little different....and that was mainly getting into and out of my driveway or up some hills...

Listening to the newscasters, you would think we had a ******* disaster. Colorado cracks me up. It has been the only state I have ever lived in where people forget how to drive in the snow between spring and fall, often people who have lived here for many years...I have often wondered if the high altitude destroys memory cells....

Try living in the Midwest for a few winters and you learn to drive in it.

When I left I had 17" on my front patio and it was still snowing strong. Should be a fun drive home!

That describes every state I've lived in Pete, especially the Midwest. I thought MN had the worst drivers in the country until moving to CO. The only reason the driver's here are worse they haven't been able to grasp that red lights mean stop.

That is because they are from Texas and California or south of the border.

MN people crack me up with all their "Minnesota nice" BS. They are the meanest drivers in the world.

It snows here every year and the news has nothing better to do than cover the snow, ALL DAY AND NIGHT, how annoying! Whateve, its all the transplants from the west that buy into all the hype. Just another snow fall, NOT A FREAKING BLIZZARD.

Amen, I never could understand why this is such a big deal. Now if we hit 3' it's another story but until then Enough Already, I turn the radio off on days like this.

I sorta noticed both of those facts, too. I had to pretty much deafen myself with music working indoors today doing some builder punch out stuff. The owner was home and had the ******* TV on pretty loud. Snow, snow, snow.....no shitski, news buttchompers, most of are aware of the fact. In fact, I would be willing to bet that there are a good number of people who can make that connection simply by looking out the window...And, then, sad to say, there are those who even standing out in the snow will need someone to tell them it is snowing....I guess that is what the news like that is for: the hard of thinking...

I simply cranked the Stabbing Westward, NIN, Oakenfold, Suicidal Tendencies, and others WAY up on the head phones....

Nice list of music Brody, maybe we need a last min flash mob to Red Rocks or something for tomorrow. That would be kinda fun.

Send that snow down here....we only got 2 inches and it all blew away, so now we have a dusting and cold...it needs to snow in the feet.

We have a 3-4 foot pile up on the roof overhanging our front door right now. I'm thinking we're going to have to knock that down before it decides to come down on it's own! (But it could be a good deterrant for unwanted solicitors so.....maybe we'll let nature take it's course!)

Ha thats how i felt today driving the focus. I had to have the wipers on full speed because the tires and bumper kicked up so much powder. Luckily i only had to drive a mile to Kateys house to use the explorer. Then i managed to sink it in a drift past the middle of her doors.... It was a overly fun day.

I keep going back to the Maui beach cam and wishing I was there.

Got up to head to work and they called and shut us down. Glad I was only 2 blocks from home at 5:00 am. Then the superintendent at the job called and they shut down the whole site anyway. So I shoveled this morning, this evening, picked up some grocery's, got the daughter unstuck, the other one parked in the proper spot so she wouldn't get stuck, and sat on my ass the rest of the day thinking about how warm it'd be in HI.

At least you can see it. The huge blizzard we had a few years ago totally buried a lifted Yota 4Runner I had in the driveway. I knew about where it was supposed to be.....

These were around 4 or 5 this morning and its still snowing LOL, only reason there is not more snow on the truck is the wind just blows betweent he house and garage and its gone. The second pic is of the neighbor across the street and the snow overhanging their eve.

since I got here in 1970
There were a lot fewer people here in 1970. I think more of them understood the conditions, and how to drive in bad weather. Now, we have technology that compensates for poor driving habits. It makes people feel safe, in spite of their shortcomings. I'm all for the hyperbole we have on TV today, those morons need to stay home.

I agree. I also leave the room, providing I can, when a TV set is on due to all the hyperbole....and commercials...
