Interesting story. (Too bad the burner's wearing a Clutch tshirt.) I hope the VFW guy is accurate that the guy "agreed" to sit taped to the pole - otherwise he has potential backlash and that would suck.

When he first said the young guy was offered a "choice," I thought of the article about the shoplifter who "fell off a curb" after stabbing a Marine. ;)

There is a family story from the late fourties, about local kids skinny dipping in one of grandpa's irrigation lakes. The story ends with the Sheriff catching the kids in the act. All were given a choice: Call the parents, or, spend the night in jail. Nobody went to jail that night. I guess there are things worse than public humiliation.
