Been toying with the possibility of fabbing up a set of custom (oversize diameter) adjustable tie-rods & swaybars for my old Dodge. Ive been told at other Dodge forums to look into putting a factory set off a diesel onto my 3500 (gas) chassis. Was told they are heavier than whats on mine. Ball joints are all new & I am putting on new hubs & brakes. Going to be damn all new front end after Im done. Thoughts on the custom fabbing or should I stick to stock upgrade?

Pretty much depends on what your end plans for the truck are. If you do not expect to wheel it, then it is overkill and not worth the money in my book. On the flip side of that is that nothing overkill is ever a bad idea. Generally the heavy duty stock and heavier rod ends or Heims are for heavy duty wheeling. Check Ballistic Fabrication, BDS, or any of the other fabrication sources listed under the TECH section and go to their websites to price the stuff.

Saw a 1 ton Dually diesel with a completely different setup than my v-10. Think Im going with the stock diesel upgrade when money allows.

There are tons of upgrades out there. The diesel upgrade being just one of them. Do your research and upgrade as you have time and funds.

Not planning on wheeling this truck, just need to try & get the suspension trouble cleared up if I do sell it. Alot of people sell their stuff on Craigslist & hide all the problems just to sell it, I couldnt live with myself If I did that. I always disclose all known issues with my stuff anytime I sell anything. Im probably the most honest person on that site. As for a wheeling rig, I am looking, but cant pull the funds to buy anything until I sell something. Found a couple nice CJ-7's, Wranglers, & old Broncos that I would love to have. All 6 cylinder, manual trans....right up my alley.
