Jeeper from the Springs

Hey al, I'm Derrick. Stationed in the Springs for the past 5 years and bought a new 2011 JKU Mango Tango Rubicon last year. Its pretty heavily modified (for my standards) with a lift, 37" KM2's and other various bumpers/mods. Pics will be up today since I'm at work right now.

Not too experienced of a wheeler but I'm getting more used to the rock crawling than what I came from in Florida.

Yea I was looking to get a 2dr Rubicon when I found this one for a few grand cheaper and brand new. Got the USAA Military discount too so that helped a bunch!

Welcome! My husband and I spent 18 yrs in FL (Winter Haven, Kissimmee, Orlando). Had enough... I like some of the islands, but other than that, you can keep it. Our family is much happier here in CO.

Nice Jeep. :thumb: You should be glad that you didn't bite on the 2 dr. I love mine - but regret we didn't get the unlimited. Oh well...maybe some day...

Jackie, yea I agree I do love the extra space in the 4dr version over the 2dr. Was just up at the dealership and was tempted by the new COD4 model but damn my rig is too far along now to go back to stock-ish for a trade-in. I love CO too but I hate the cold and snow. Miss the mild winters and the beach lifestyle.

Over-rated when you have to go to work every day anyways. The winters here are short and can be fun if you take advantage. The mountains make up for the beaches. I'll never go back to live there. Maybe ocassional visits (which I have to do for my job anyways...) i would drop everything I was doing to go back to Sanibel/Captiva island for a few days!!!

True but for my job (military), I was always outside so the weather there made life so much easier. Here I just freeze when out for more than an hour in the winter.
