Im shopping for new shocks for my '99 F350 PSD. I want to get a set of Rancho RS5000's for it but the local shops like Advanced dont have a "stock" replacement, only for a 2.5" lift & up. I went to Ranchos site & they still list them there for $49 each. Fronts are RS5254 & rears are RS5267 $215 shipped. Is this a decent upgrade or does anybody have a brand that would be better around the same cost. Not really shock wise. Ive got em on my Dodge & they seem alright. Just looking for a stock upgrade. Thanks all!!

I have had better luck with the Rancho and ProComp shocks than I have had with anything else. I have used more Ranchos that other brands on almost all of the 4x rigs that I have had, too. They seem to last a long time and some have even traveled from vehicle to vehicle as they were still good. There are a lot of shocks out there, most of them more expensive than either Rancho or ProComp. A lot depends on what you want ride quality wise, but with a heavy truck (vs a lighter vehicle), ride quality becomes a moot point because of the stiff springs.

I would certainly check with Steve (Scout Man) as he has a lot of new shocks that he is trying to get rid of for a good price.

Before I read it I was gonna say rancho, that's what I am going to use when the time comes.

If you feel like splurging a bit I would go for the RS9000's for the rear if you do any towing. I will say that with the 180lb over stock bumper I have on the front of the F250 with the adjustables cranked the rides is much better than the stock.
