Some of you may remember my jeep, I ripped it apart, sold off the parts, and traded it in 90% put back together. I disclosed the things that needed finished. Well I found it for sale at another dealer. The dealer I traded in at fixed nothing. You can see the front sway bar isn't even attached, no rear bumper, etc. New tires??? I traded it in with those and they are almost shot, nook at them in the pics.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that may be in the market, it's not worth anything near what they are asking in the condition it's in. I kinda want to send them an email and ask what's up with the horns on the front. Maybe I will.
I would also like to add that if the repairs were not completed it is pretty unsafe to drive. And before I get bashed for trading in a vehicle in this condition it was a matter of circumstances, i didn't have enough time to finish so I took a hit on it and let them know what needed to be done.

Nice! Kinda sad what people will try to get away with. Worst part is someone will buy it as is and think they got a steal!

The dealer I traded in at fixed nothing.
When I finally got the title for our Cherokee, there were a half dozen used car dealers listed on the back. It had cycled through the dealer auctions that many times before my wife picked it out. Even with all the new parts various dealerships put on it, I was replacing the front axle a week after we bought it. It took six months of wrenching and another $1000 before I felt it was reliable enough to go to the mountians. My wife learned a lot from the experience. ;)

And before I get bashed for trading in a vehicle in this condition
I would sure hope you wouldn't get bashed - it's not on the owner who trades it in, i wouldn't think - the dealer has to by default take responsibility for whatever they take in, prior to selling it (or, they *should*???). Interesting on the dealer, too, as we looked at that place (and drove a couple) before we wound up buying ours at Go Chrysler Jeep West in Golden.

I know what you mean about the dealerships pulling the wool over peoples eyes here is our Focus we just traded in last month. Keep in mind they gave less than 1/3rd the trade in value which ended up @2750 and the power rack and pinion steering was leaking, the Clutch master cylinder is leaking too, And the kicker is the price they are trying to sell it for $8750 as well as they stated nothing is wrong with it!

No you should not get any flak at all and yes the dealer should and is almost required to make sure the cars they sell are at least safe. That us not on the person that trades it in. I would nit worry about anything and if that dealer did not fix anything I would be very carful on buying anything from them with out going over it thoroughly. What did you get in place of it?

Legacy gt, gonna try a dirt bike for the season. I get bored too easily and it a smaller investment. And it doesn't take up half of my garage.

Light silver. Already started modding it. Bought an 08 2.5i for the wife days later from a Honda dealer because I was so disappointed with hueberger.

Right on, have fun with the GT I had a blast if I would have kept it I had a big plan for mine. There is so much you can do to them to make them crazy fast and handle like they it is on rails.
