Again, a big thanks to Pete for his tenacity and fixing my winch today. All I'll say is if you get a good deal on a winch because it has a broken bolt for the power don't buy it!

Pete did get it fixed but he can provide details if he wishes. While there he also fixed a most annoying exhaust rattle and added a couple bolts through my rear bumper and frame for my peace of mind.

Now here's the best part - I'm ready to wheel! :thumb:

Thanks again Pete! :thumb:

Gotcha. North has some stuff. Red Feather area, and Green Ridge. (http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=273)

Did it years ago in my Cherokee. Would like to go back.

If you guys come north let me know, I have only done Sevenmile and would like to try some other trails out as they open.

10-4. Such a low moisture year, suspect might be doable darn near now?

Word is that Chris has a winch he might need to try out... :)

More to the point, wonder what the gate situation is. Been years since I rolled through.

Check the Canyon Lakes road status page here (It also includes Boulder, Clear Creek and Sulphur RDs): http://www.fs.usda.gov/wps/portal/fsinternet/!ut/p/c4/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os3gjAwhwtDDw9_AI8zPyhQ oY6BdkOyoCAGixyPg!/?ss=110210&navtype=BROWSEBYSUBJECT&cid=fsm91_058362&navid=091000000000000&pnavid=null&position=Conditions.Html&ttype=detail&pname=Arapaho%2520&%2520Roosevelt%2520National%2520Forests%2520Pawnee %2520National%2520Grassland-%2520Home

The CLD status page still has Greenridge listed as open only to over-the-snow vehicles. Sevenmile is the only trail in the CLD open to rigs right now.

The road-status pages are not always up to date, but they're a good start. Good idea to bookmark the page for future reference. About this time of year, I starting checking it a couple of times a week.

Still, the best bet is to call the relevant ranger district office for the most up-to-date info on trail openings. The road status pages can be anywhere from accurate to a few days behind when they start opening trails.

That might be more of an issue than snow in terms of trails opening this year.

That's the impression I'm coming away with, simply based on what I've seen. The wind put the smack-down on a broader range than I might have thought.

Honestly though, there are so many trees that needed to be culled, and said wind made some decisions...

Ya man. I lived in the Fort for many years in a previous life.

I can roll with this. 20" bar and 68cc's under the hood. Runs like you want it to.
