Hey All,
Well I finally got the ATVs off the property last weekend for the first time. We tugged them to China Wall since we know the trail pretty well and it was the first time. My daughter was with her aunt for the weekend so it was just my son, my wife and I and it was LOTSa fun.
Getting the ATVs there and back was the most NOT fun. The road to China wall is pretty crappy when in the Jeep. When in the Jeep with a trailer behind it, fail...
At any rate, once we got there, we parked at the bottom of the hill and unloaded the ATVs. We took the trail down to the river. I can't lie to you, until this trip, I didn't even know there was a river there. ATVs allowed us to get out and see what was around us, not just find the next big rock to climb. Advantage: ATV...
We decided to loop back around the other direction up and around the other direction... We didn't get too far when we hit an obstacle that I didn't want to try with the 2WD ATV my wife and son switched off driving. Advantage: Jeep. So, we turned around and decided to head back to the Jeep and explore some of the side trails that exist from the bottom of the hill. First we headed right which took us to a camping spot, a nice one though...
Then we turned around and headed back to a road that I was pretty sure would also end up at the paved road we started on. I was right. A bit disappointing....UNTIL I realized that there was an ATV path that went along the paved road. We drove down that for a little ways till it popped back onto the paved road. We crossed the paved road and there were 2 more trailheads, both ok for ATVs. Advantage: ATVs... I would have never known...
We took one trail back a few miles to a nice camping spot where we decided to have some lunch. We drove it back out and headed down another trail which had some pretty sights. We decided to end that trail when we got to a sign that said there was a pass about four miles away. Next time....
Then we headed back to the Jeep, loaded up and headed back to the property. We were back at the property by 1:30. Advantage.. ATVs...
Anyway. Had a blast and didn't take a lot of pictures... But here are a few.
