One of my neighbors has this sweet trailer. I missed taking a picture the last time they had it out, but grabbed a couple of shots this time. It has a serious drool factor...Really sweet rig

I like it. It looks a lot more comfy than my ripped up tent and leaky air mattress. http://tab-rv.com/

After a week in the popup including high winds, having the awning ripped off and seeing how there's no setup with a teardrop Barb was asking about the pricing of these. Unfortunately when I told her the price the conversation ended. :frown:

It needs a lift kit.

I'll be odd one out. I really dislike the T@B trailers. There are a lot better trailers for less out there IMO.

That's beautiful!! There was a teardrop on the cover of a recent Sunset Magazine from this company- www.vacations-in-a-can.com (http://www.vacations-in-a-can.com), they even rent them.

For what my neighbors use this for, they don't need a lift. They had it out this last weekend to go to a big 'tear drop trailer' meet and greet at Steamboat Lake, which, as people who have been there know, certainly requires a built 4x4 and large lift on the trailer to get in to....

What are the handles for? I'm calling them handles, they're at waist height on the "corners" of the trailer, and they look like 1/2 circle handles... if they are handles you have a very strong neighbor!

Good question and I sure don't know. Maybe they are for a horse and buggy set up if the truck fails...

They don't make very much sense. Seems that if you have to move the thing off the truck, you would simply grab the tongue and move it that way. The handles are way odd the balance point...

Handles to pick it up and spin it 180 degrees? Just one person on each corner.

I'm really intrigued by these now, I've wanted a camping trailer for a while and a teardrop would pretty much do it. Check this one out:

and this guy builds a sweet one himself on a harbor freight 4x8 trailer:

I thought of building one more than a few times Paul, I think it would be ideal for Barb & I and since new ones are pricey it may be a good winter project. I missed one on CL a couple months ago for $1200 which was homemade along those lines.

reminded me of Jock's fishing net post because of the multi-colored woods all bent together. insane attention to detail. if you look at that guy's flickr account he has all sorts of wood working projects.

That looks like something my friend Bren would make, too. He, like Jock, is also a wood working wizard.

That is way beyond my skills and attention span. The whole reason I didn't build one is as soon as late Fall and Winter were over with, it would have sat in the garage half finished and come the following year, I would have been wondering how the hell I was going to get rid of it because I lost interest. :lmao:

I did some searches and found some more pics: Homemade Teardrop | Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dwstucke/3973099492/), whoever dwstucke is, he comments at the bottom that they didn't build it, it was at a rally in New York and I gather they took pictures of it. I am curious though if he hand a hand in those kayak builds, those are sweet too.
