My brother is looking to get the ring and pinion done for his Jeep. He also has a lockright locker to put in the rear. We do pretty much all other work on our trucks and we want to be a part of the install. Anyone willing to teach us?

I don't do my own gears anymore and won't help with anyone elses due to my lack of knowledge here. Some people on the forum are pretty decent. see who responds, but if you strike out, try these guys:

Axle & Differential Repair, differential and axle parts, axle kits, Denver, Aurora, Castle Rock (http://www.axleandgear.com/)

Bill is a great guy and just recently helped me out on a Yota diff/ARB issue. He will do an on or off the rig install.

I've heard only good things about Western Drivetrain.

Warrlord has posted a discount for forum members at his shop: Auto Service/Repair Discount for FR Members (http://www.frontrange4x4.com/forums/showthread.php?15040-Auto-Service-Repair-Discount-for-FR-Members) :thumb:

The guy who owns Serious Offroad has been know to install gears. He's a stand up guy who won't make excuses for his work. I think you'll be able to find him here. ;)

There is a guy on COJeeps and NAXJA, screen name is DutchVDub. He works on trucks and heavy equipment by day, builds by night. He's young enough he can take on side work to fund his Jeep habit.

Colorado Chapter - NAXJA Forums -::- North American XJ Association (http://www.naxja.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=95)

Flat Green Fabrication (http://www.cojeeps.net/forumdisplay.php?46-Flat-Green-Fabrication)

I used to recommend Josh at SFF, NO MORE! I've followed up on some of his work, heard negative things from too many other people who did business with him. Buyer beware! :2c:

I would be surprised if they did simply due to business liability issues. Best bet is to contact them and find out.

Yeah Cliff, you'll just have to send some PMs and ask who is willing to do what.

Western Drivetrain: I have a bud who lives in that area, walked in to buy a crush sleeve. The guy asked what he was doing, they talked for a bit. He gave my bud the crush sleeve and marking compound, told him that he'd look at the axle if my bud ran into problems setting it up. When my bud thanked him for the advise and supplies, the guy said, "just don't try to marry me!"

Warrlord: Larry has been a trade mechanic for 30 years already. He's one of the go-to guys for problems that have me stumped, one of the few I'll actually trust with work that I don't want to do. Recently, he stopped taking side work. You could ask, but don't be surprised if he'd rather spend his free time with his loved ones.

Serious Offroad: I met Frank through NAXJA, stood in his home, visited with his family, oggled his projects. He understands the value of maintaining a good reputation, I don't think twice about doing business with him. I can't tell you if he'd be interested in doing something like this, send a PM to Serious Offroad.

DutchVDub: Rich makes the short list of people I recommend, and he's closer to Denver. He has made the comment that prices go up if you watch, and go higher if you help. :D It doesn't cost anything to sign up at COJeeps or NAXJA, and ask him directly.
