Ever wonder how many people are actually in the world? Check out this site:

World Population Clock: 7 Billion People - Worldometers (http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/)

During the short time I was on it, the population growth increased by almost 300.....and I wasn't on it long.

Here are some interesting statistics:

A tremendous change occurred with the industrial revolution: whereas it had taken all of human history until around 1800 for world population to reach one billion, the second billion was achieved in only 130 years (1930), the third billion in less than 30 years (1959), the fourth billion in 15 years (1974), and the fifth billion in only 13 years (1987). During the 20th century alone, the population in the world has grown from 1.65 billion to 6 billion.

A news bit on the radio angled towards Earth's food production vs. the number of people on Earth: The "overweight" status of the population equals about an extra 1-billion people on earth (heavy people eating more to account for a billion more persons).

Funny how Americans are the most obese people on the planet...From REUTERS:

1: The United States is the most obese country in the world with 34% of the adult population classified as obese, according to the latest OECD survey.

Notice how is only showed statistics for "the adult" population and didn't even get into the huge number of overweight children....
