My poor baby boy. He has been through so much and I feel so bad for him. He started having seizures just after he turned 1 year old which we have gotten under control with meds and regular blood draws. Couple years ago he ate something that got lodged in his intestine and he had to have surgery to remove part of his intestine. That was a nightmare. I already had a fear of doctors and especially when surgery is involved. He ended up in and out of hospital for almost a month and had to have his stitches re-done 3 times. He is going back in for surgery today to remove a lump in his neck which has gotten huge over the last couple days. He is lethargic and in pain now, please pray for him. I am not much the religious person but right now I am saying my prayers.

Thank you all! He is out of surgery and back home now. They were able to remove some of the lump but it is up against a jugular nerve and could not get it all. We will have the results of the biopsy at the end of next week. He just doesn't seem to have much luck with these surgeries. They had to shave and poke all four legs before they got the IV in. They stapled the incision in his neck so he'll be going back in 2 weeks to have them removed. They did draw some of the fluid before and did a biopsy and it was not cancerous, so hopefully it stays the same.

I feel for the pooch big time. Trying to get a simple blood test drawn from me is like major surgery. I apparently don't "bleed", but I sure do bruise!!!

I'd like to see pics of the boy as well!

Yea them petite dogs are easy on the dog food bill.
Best wishes for your Rotty.

I have a Corgi that's 14 years old. We've spent some bucks on him over the years but he's just like a kid. Looks like you have the same relationship with your beasts. They just don't live long enough.

Got biopsy back. Not cancerous. Swelling in lymph nodes and lump caused by bacterial infection. The are doing a culture to determine the right antibiotics for him. Has had cephalexin a lot and they don't think he is responding to it. Should have the right antibiotics for him by end of week and then next week he gets his staples out!
