I am hoping to get out next weekend, might be able to make it. Are you running up Jenny Creek or down?

I'm going to put maybe. Sunday I usually can't do runs but will try to make this one.
I haven't been to Jenny for a couple years and hear the rumors that it might be closed next year and rerouted out of the creek.

Jim Williamson and I ran it yesterday. It was pretty uneventful. There is one big rock in the "middle" of the creek that takes some negotiating, but that was about all that was interesting.

I still like the area and may fish a little at Yankee Doodle

Supposed to be a nice day on Sunday and for you die hard Bronco fans you could still make it back to see most the game if you wanted to

OK I can go. By meeting in Rollinsville I assume you mean the little store across the street from the road that heads up to Rollins pass and the trail?

What is an address or intersection for our meeting spot? Anyone know the name of the store?

otisdog

There's only one Cross road in Rollinsville - It's Main st. and also Tolland rd. If you turn east on it there's the little general store right on the corner and a restaurant. That's the place to meet. If you turn west it's a dirt road that goes to Tolland and the Moffat tunnel. Not hard to find. I think the restaurant is the Stage Stop.

How deep is the creek? Can I do it on 32" tires with no lift?

Hypoid
September 22nd, 2012, 09:00 PM
You should be fine Jackie. The water is not at all deep this late in the year.

When you get to the first lake, continue up to where the road is blocked off. From there, it is about a half-mile hike to the Needle's Eye tunnel, awesome views!

BTW, my Avatar picture was taken after the first creek crossing. :)

Jackie, you should go. Now that all the wedding stuff is behind you, you need to get out on a trail. This is a fun one. It'll be the first time I've done it in the 40. Don't want to miss that, do you? :lmao:

I ran up to bill moore today to see if my rack would hold up to a bumpy highway... guess tomorrow I'll see how it does on an actual trail.

See you guys in the AM.
