The rod ends on my draglink is due for replacement. Problem is, it's an after market draglink and I have no idea who manufactured it and what tre it accepts. If i have the tre on hand, is there any shops that can identify it for me?

Maybe they can, maybe they'd like to sell you another steering set up (especially 4wheel parts ).

Post some pictures. The owner of Serious Offroad knows a thing or two about Cherokees.

Edit: After looking at the picture in your intro thread, I think you have the ZJ tie rod. Look up the tie rod ends for a '96 Grand Cherokee with the V-8 engine. The drag link looks like a stock Cherokee part.

The ZJ tie rod is a bolt on upgrade. The tie rod on the ground is the reason why people do the upgrade.

X2 I did the V8 ZJ swap on my xj. AutoZone, Advanced, etc. will have the part. It should be made by Moog, not Crown.

Yea I have the zj setup on because I couldn't find the tre for my other bar. The other bar is much beefier and supposedly uses 1 ton gm tre. Ill try to get pics of it soon

If the bigger bar uses 1 ton GM TREs then the taper will be much bigger and a stock tie rod or the V8 ZJ would not bolt up right. See if they match up to anything on this page: http://www.jeepfan.com/tech/jeep-tie-rod-and-drag-link-end-identification/

I've seen a few beefy tie rods like this, marketed by various companies. Don't be surprised, if the aftermarket part uses stock tie rod ends.

Just for grins, take the tie rod to your local NAPA/CarQuest, and ask for stock replacement TREs. If they fit, fine, you have an improvement over stock. If not, I hope you have someone who knows how to use the paper catalogs.

BTW, NAPA Premium FTW! :)

I have a Big Daddy tie-rod on my TJ and it uses the stock ends. The steering is the same setup as the XJ I believe so Hypoid's suggestion might be worth a try>
These are the Moog numbers I have for stock TRE's. Not 100% sure they are correct but I have them around for when I need new ends.
Moog # Es3094L and Es3095R

It would make sense the gm tre taper would be larger. It was just something that was suggested to me. I've tried both xj and zj tres and the side that thread into the bar are alot smaller. I guess the only thing to do is taking it up to Napa and see if they can match it up for me. Thanks for the help guys!
