Just throwing this out there. I am slow as far as work goes this time of year, and I could really use some cash. Things I have to offer... I have a 20' gooseneck flatbed and a truck that can pull it if anyone needs anything moved or shipped. (I am a class A semi driver, so anything you want to ship would be in safe hands). I am also a capable welder/fabricator and I am very handy with a wrench. If anyone needs any work done, or anything made, feel free to let me know. I have made lots of things including bumpers and roll cages, and I can wrench on just about anything you want. I have plenty of pics I can show you of work I have done, and plenty of references. Let me know if there is anything you need!!

x2! Steve reconfigured my trailer battery, propane, jack mounts recently.

Hey Steve, I have the axle flip kit for my trailer so maybe I could pay you to install it. I just need to get past a few financial hurdles of my own first.

Before I moved here, a neighbor of mine quit his job and started his own hot shot delivery service, last I heard he was doing pretty well at it and he liked it as it kept him close to home. He started off really small with a single client that would use him on a semi-regular basis (1-2 deliveries a week) last I heard he had another driver and was in the process of hiring another.

If I remember correctly he started on craigslist, he answered an ad for the first client looking to have something shipped overnight and put up an ad of his own offering the service.

I was going to mention the same type of idea. You would probably have to change your insurance to cover work like that though. When I was out of work and in school I did "hauling" for people with my truck and trailer. Mostly it was junk hauling. I would charge for my time/gas and the fees at the dump. Easy enough work and I could make a couple hundred a day. I just put an ad on CL and could get 1 or 2 jobs a week.

Yea, I have thought about doing a CL add. Not looking for a career change here, this is just my slow season for my day job and with the divorce I need to suppliment a little.

The nice thing about the gig I did was that I only did it when I needed cash. I only had 1 person who needed another job done later so there was really no customer base as most were just 1 time jobs. Once normal work came back around, I stopped doing that gig just based on time constraints.

Yeah I wasn't suggesting a career change, just a short term / part time thought, but if at some point the customer base expands why not contract out the work to another driver.

I am enlisting Steve to do my front bumper as well. I just don't have tge time or equipment to get it done myself. Cannot wait to get started !

Im going to have to pass on that one. Setting up gears is the one thing I still pay someone else to do. Sorry.
