If anyone is want to build a SUPER strong front axle they covered this on Xtreme4x4 last week. You will need a 14 bolt and a Ford front Dana 50 from a newer Ford truck. If you have good welding skills you can build it at home. Here is a link to the video;

Yeah that was a pretty sweet episode. Ridiculously strong and after trimming not too bad of clearance lost.

He makes it look too easy. I need to build one like that for my leaf spring SAS. But I thought the axles would rotate the wrong way if you flip the rear diff over? :confused:

Edit: ok, it's "turned around" not just flipped over. :thumb:

The pinion pointing backwards changes the directional output.

Not really necessary 'till you do the rock bouncing stuff those boys down south do. And they still break stuff.

Definitely puts you into a whole new tire range for diff clearance.

okay now its not in the front...yet.....but i run the 14 bolt and everyone says ohh its soo low need to shave it or buy huge tires......and i just want to say it doesnt need it......if it hit something (ive done a few times already) you either move around it just use the skinny pedal...i have done both.......it is a beast and can take it lol in the front i may modify a diff cover some but i will run a 14 bolt up front if i ever break my true HD 44
