Got the old engine out and cofirmed that cyld #7 blew the rod, trashed the crank, blew about a quarter sized chunk
out of the bottom of the bore & about a 2 inch crack up the bore. But the heads are still good !!!!
Got ready to drop the new engine in and ........ Its a late model engine for hydr clutch...
Smurf has linkage,
Found a place in Cali (cal pony cars) has a bracket to fit it. Should be here by the end of the week.
And also found a older engine on CL that has the boss for linkage. JR got it for a song
He's gona build this one as a powerhouse !!!

One of my favorites was the hard hat rule. Even though we were installing toilets and sinks in the completed house, with no other trade workers around, we had to wear a hard hat in the house?!?!?!? I jokingly told a supervisor once, 'what is going to happen, a meteorite fall from the sky?' he did not laugh.

March 23rd, 2013, 11:00 AM
OSHA guy's were the best
I'll give OSHA a minor good word. The day after they came through a sheet metal company I worked for we all were given ear protection. The bad news was it was too little, too late for those of us that had been there long enough to have permanent hearing loss.
glacierpaul
March 23rd, 2013, 11:14 AM
I was OSHA certified for my dads company, they do have their benefits. I agree with you Chris, at least the newbs may have hearing later in life. For us it was gloves, ear & eye protection, and proper foot wear. We had some employees who did not think about their personal safety, OSHA took out that problem, as we had to provide and enforce the guidelines. Too late on the ear protection for me too, but I do wear it the buds when needed now.

Now Iv had a chance to settle down, Heres the story.
All the times Iv had Pa Pa running was without a Radiator or Gauges so its been short runs.
Got the aluminum rad & good gauge set in and fired it up !!!! Oil at 45 PSI at idle, 65 PSI at 2500. Realy strong !!!
As the temp runs up, Pressure go's down.... When the temp hits 175, oil drops to 10 PSI !!! damn !!!!
Let it set overnight. Next morn starts at 45 PSI. Temp go'es up, Pressure go'es down !!!
Only thing not checked was the cam bearings !!!

FEs do that too, 12 PSI at idle is common. Ford does not list a minimum pressure at idle, but have minimum pressure requirements at speed.
What is your pressure at 2000 RPM?

What is your pressure at 2000 RPM?
I'd agree with Mike on this one. As long as there is some pressure at idle and it still comes up as RPM's come up, you should be fine.
