They are out of a 77.5 F250, I don't have any interchange info just been looking for old fords in the yards.

I'll try and remember to get an interchange list. With that, you can search inventories on the interwebzzz.

I was at Colorado Auto Parts the other day. They had a pair of Scout II's. Pretty rare to see them these days. One was pretty stripped, but the other was relatively complete. It even had what appeared to be a factory rollbar. Both had the bucket seat mounts, etc. They were both V8 engines, and I think both 304. The complete one even had an AC setup.

If any one is out and happens across an 87-89 silverado/suburban/G-van with a 350 TBI, I am looking for the harness for the engine complete to ECU. I don't need the ECU yet but would like to get a head start on the harness. I can pay you in cash, or if you prefer beer and steaks (I work for a family owned butcher). My number is in the rescue list.

The big two say $99.99. LKQ has a $30 core, U-PULL has a $20.25 core. Through tomorrow, LKQ has a 50% off sale, and a lot of ZJs.

I did see a metric 60 under a super duty one time. Truck looked to have been in a hard rollover accident, the housing was pretty much stripped.

I set out this weekend because LKQ had a 1/2-price sale. I never made it to LKQ because they did not have many candidates for my shopping list. My research provided a few scores, and a few oddities.

JKS disconnect link: Where is the other one, what did it come off of? Both questions went unanswered.

Went to the yard today with Sam to try and find the last few parts for the WJ. Was only able to get the headlamp wiring harness for each side. Sam was able to score a seat for his Ranger and a harness he has been lookin for. We also stumbled across some lost potential. Also a few at the other yard but forgot to take some pics.

Speaking of junkyards, I was thinking about going to U Pull in Denver this Saturday (March 14), assuming sunny weather and no snow/rain. Anyone else up for it? I'm trying to see if they might have any Explorer or Ranger parts (specifically any stock axles with 3.73 stock gears or better, driveshafts, and transfer case).

Just thought I'd see if anyone else wants to make a trip. I'd be willing to help pull some parts, and I have one seat in the B2 if anyone is in Denver and wants to share a ride.

Not exactly at the yard, but on its way. I have been looking into getting a roof rack but I need the rails and crossbars. I had the holes to mount rails, but nothing else. cheapest I found was on ebay, $156. Or some after market ones starting at $277. Found a 3rd gen 4runner at Denver pull and pay, but it had been rolled, and the rack was TRASH. While I was there, some cool guy was pulling the locking diff, great find on his part. Anyways, I found a 3rd gen on craigslist that was totaled, and being parted before being sent to the yard. Long story short, I got a set of rails and cross bars in PERFECT condition for $50, plus a few other random pieces I needed. Hopefully will be picking up a roof cargo basket off of clist this week for $70. Been a good, cheap week for me.

I went out to U Pull today and there was a 73 CJ5 out there. It looked like it was pretty picked through (the engine was still there, but it was sad looking). At least from when I was there, it has all of its axles from lugs to lugs, and a lot of the body was in good shape.

Anyone know a spot to get stuff for newer JK's? I am going to possible take out the factory subwoofer and need to find a NON-subwoofer rear panel for a 2013. I Amazon'd a new 8" sub and if it doesn't sound good, I'll keep the 10's I have and build them into the storage drawer I'm going to make. I'd like to have the extra space though. The other issue I have is where to put a 2.5G air tank without eating up more space. Coming from a super duty to a jeep makes one reconsider storage and what stuff to take along to the hills.

The simple answer is no. The more involved answer is knowing what years/models will have the part you want, and watch the inventory for those vehicles.

I've had this little growl going on in the LF for a little while now. Ran to the pull and save today to grab a hub/bearing, and ended up with my best day of parts finds so far. Didn't take long to find a hub/bearing that looked like it hadn't been on the truck all that long. $15. Came across one with really new looking Bilsteins on the front, and slightly older looking ones on the back, didn't have the right tools to get em off, but coulda had a fairly new set for $10. I did end up finding a set with mounts on one end that I think will work for fab'n up some front sway bar disco's, and for $10 for the pair, I'll give em a tryout. I knew it would happen someday, and today was finally the day.......... Found a bug shield with zero cracks. Not a color I want, but that's what paint is for. took a peek in another EX in that row, and found it to have an almost brand new weatherstrip around the passenger door. open all the other doors and they were all new. Only one I didn't take is the one for the back hatch glass, it had a cut in it. got the other 5 though for total of $28. The drivers' side seat belt latch quit working some time ago, and I grab a newer set up out of a 97 or 98 I think, bolted right in and the newer style looks much better, so I grabbed on for the passenger side today as well, $19, I can get the whole thing at another yard up North for $6, but I hate to drive an hour for a seatbelt, so pulled the trigger and the fronts will finally be matching soon. Found a factory hitch/bumper combo on a 2002 that got me to thinking........took some measurements and I think this thing will fit. I only took the steel inner piece with the hitch and plates to mount it, along with the 7-pole round electrical/lighting socket, going to use it as a foundation to build on $25. Came across one with a conical spectre oiled air filter. Not the best brand out there, but for $3, It'll work for now. Final find of the day was a used set of these:

Amazon link to item (http://www.amazon.com/111039-Explorer-Crystal-Headlight-Assembly/dp/B0015PRVF6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1443077902&sr=8-4&keywords=96+explorer+headlights)

They need to be wetsanded and polished up again, but at $52, I'm not complaining about a little sanding. Only found 1 set of F-150 leafs and they were rustier than I wanted to mess with. All in all what I call a victory at the yard today. And now I have lots of work ahead of me. Still looking for that elusive set of springs and t-case.

That's what I did, took just the tools I needed to get to the hub/bearing but I didn't make it too far before I was going back out to get rest of the tools. I had help, tons of explorers to go through, and I took advantage of both.

Just to be sure I like to remove the parts and then go find my yr of vehicle and do a test fit ? but XJ are a dime a dozen also.
That did cross my mind, but in the end, I decided if it doesn't fit how I like/want, then if nothing else, I have good solid hitch to integrate into a custom build down the road. The width on it looks damn close, so I think at the worst I may need to modify the ends of my frame a bit, maybe drill some holes. But being a fabricator, possibilities are wide open.

That was me alright. I dont remember seeing your group, but I pay so much attention to the cars that I don't notice too many other people in the yard, always afraid of missing something good if I dont pay attention. I was there for quite some time after that as well. That dolly was heaped with parts by the time we left yesterday afternoon. Did you find what you were looking for?

94ToyBear
September 24th, 2015, 05:50 PM
Haha small world. Yup we went for about 40 lug nuts to replace some on our shop cars, s10 pick up and blazer.
Front end parts from 90's Dokota found a front bumper only, then I stumbled on a 1998 YJ.......(labeled wrong) was more like an 87 to 89. Found my tie rod and ends and the shaft from the steering wheel to box.
Oh and found the only side mirror from a s10 in the yard that was still intact.

Was a good day, all together my group save around 1000 bucks.

I have no clue what i saved. Spent more than i intended, but definitely found a couple gems. Biggest had to be the new door seals all the way around on one of the explorers. The hatch glass seal had a tear so i left it, but i got almost brand new seals for all 5 doors. Thats why i love the JY. Never k ow what you might find!!

Everything I need to finally get rid of the electronic shift t-case, INCLUDING the uber hard to find trim ring for a manual trans and transfer case. Going back tomorrow for a couple other goodies that caught my eye today.

I have not been to the yards much this year. I did a run-through on the 4th of July weekend. All of these vehicles are long gone.

An old Fairlane.

I went for another run on Saturday. I counted six, two door XJs. One was the '97+ body style. I saw a 3/4-ton Chevy with flat top knuckles, not sure I want to deal with those. There was a '90 in the new sets with some Swampers and a lift. A couple young guys were pulling the lift, we had a good visit. http://www.naxja.org/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

Coolest car of the weekend, a 1950 Studebaker Commander.

Cool Stude. Lots of good trim parts on that car! I am sure there is a collector somewhere that would drool over the parts.

If it even hits the lot before being parted. Unless managment has changed. a lot of good stuff like this, never actually makes it whole.
