I won't be able to make it, though I wish I could. Have signed up to ride in the MS150 bike ride that weekend. Thinking that may be the dumbest thing I've done in a long time...

Jackie

Chris, do you know if LaDawn booked the area it as a private event? Also, do you think it should be posted as a "run"? We could try to incorporate an early run on Pole Hill or something before the pot-luck LaDawn is planning if she is cool with that. This would have to be totally up to her. Maybe it's not appropriate - (I don't know). If it is posted as a "run", then we can coordinate with each other better.

Thoughts???

Chris
March 15th, 2013, 09:11 PM
I have no idea Jackie, I got a brief e-mail with what I posted. I believe Jeff/Patrolman may have more idea since he talked to her fairly recently. I included her phone number so anyone can call for more info, I'm not in communication with her myself.

As far as a run that's up to the Admin, not me. ;)

It's really up to LaDawn, I would think. It would be kind of cool to have his rig leading the run (regardless of who is driving it) if it isn't sold by then...

Chris
March 15th, 2013, 09:23 PM
Again, I don't know. I imagine there will be people from his family, his neighborhood, climbing buddies, construction friends, etc. If people want to do something leading up to what LaDawn plans I don't she'd care one way or another.

Saw LaDawn on Tuesday and she told us CT, Petes climbing partner and longtime friend, is helping her arrange all of the location ,etc for the day . Really nice guy if you have not met him yet . LaDawn also said CT might be thinking of a "memorial climb" before the pot luck so maybe it woul be cool to have a run before the pot luck too .
Two things Pete loved to do , going on in the same area ,on the same morning that all his friends / family are getting together in his memory ? Maybe that would all work , ? just a thought

Rob

We could do a run on Pole Hill first. Or run Pierson Park from Colo 7 to Estes.

Looks like I won't be able to make this but I really wish I could. I miss Pete. (Family matters have to come first and right now I'm being pulled in three different directions:rolleyes:).

You guys really should plan a trail run in front of the event that morning. I think Pete would have liked it that way...

My condolences to all who knew him. Try to enjoy the day.

I don't think there's one planned Jeff, there was talk early on but it didn't develop. I think CT (Pete's climbing buddy) may have a climb planned though...

Jim
June 25th, 2013, 09:04 PM
I could see folks running Pole Hill - it's danged close and not overly long. Any interest in that?

Jackie
June 25th, 2013, 09:12 PM
For those of you able to attend, you should plan a run for either Pole hill, or Pierson park Rd. prior to the event. (These suggestions were previously mentioned so there might be some interest in forming a small group. All it would take is for someone to post it as a RUN). I'm out - or I would have posted a run for Pierson Pk Rd...

Rob
June 25th, 2013, 09:19 PM
Johnny Park's the first trail I ran with Pete, so I'd be up for a run there beforehand. If there's enough interest, I'll post it.

Not sure if this would be best in a "trail run report" or this thread. I'll stick it here...

LaDawn sent this out to a bunch. A good read - written by Julia, Peter's sister from the Celebration.

Chris

Yeah, Pete left a big pile of 4x4 books, maps, magazines, etc for me. He had nice stacks of stuff in his garage tagged for different people. As we all know Pete was a detail guy and he carried through this attention to detail to the end.

I'll take another look through what he left me and see if I have any dupes left, I think I already gave those away.
