The link above is a bit from my motorcycle life (day trip to vacation trip on motorcycle).
There is a thread that discusses e-cigs and I thought some of the folks here might appreciate what is said about'm (from what I read, it seems they work well).

I'm just in my 3rd month of not smoking so I'm not clear of the addiction yet but agree with those that say you need a reason to quit. A simple "I don't want to smoke" doesn't seem to work, the "I have to quit" is what's worked for me.
I have to say that the 11 hour drive home from Moab in the snow was my hardest day but I made it through. Patting myself on the back...

June 21rst will be five years for me after 40 years of smoking.
I love being a non-smoker. It took some time for the cravings to go away but I rarely have the desire anymore.

I quit about 15 years ago during a bout of pneumonia. Still happy to be free of that monkey.

I didn't bother trying e-cigs or patches or gum. I had originally planned on quitting Jan 1st, but I had about 3/4 of a pack left that day. My wife suggested having 2 a day until the pack was gone, but I knew that wouldn't work. I smoked the rest of them on the 1st, and starting the 2nd went complete cold turkey. Just over 5 months in now.
