Bent inner tie rod and blown seal in the rack and pinon. Don't know what happened or how it happened. I personally think it hit one of the popular pot holes on the Boulder turnpike doing 55MPH and it just got worse the more it was driven.

The real funny thing is she used my Bronco today and now it is leaking power steering fluid out of the steering gear box. I think I really need to keep her away from the trucks and keep her in the Geo Metro (which by the way died last week).

Na.. Bending like that is a side shot and with a shot like that and a leaking rack is probably a dented race or craked housing. Its new rack time !

I was a major PITA. Took 1 1/2 days to get it out. I kept getting pissed so I stopped before I took a sledge hammer to the truck.

I use a large screwdriver & hammer to drive out the bushings & sleeves
Then the rack twist out !!

I know what would happen if I started a thread titled this way......:lmao:
That is a bummer! At least you fix it yourself, did the missus help? :)

She helped by asking why it was taking so long and if I was done yet and other trivial things going on. LOL :blah:

Good to see you got it taken care of, the racks are a PITA but no where near as difficult as on the Focus, thats why I traded it in for the Fusion.

She is a car killer! Just kidding, but that is a string of suspicious events you have there.

The real question is how many more cars have been killed in the last 10 months since this happened :lmao:

Oh, a few weeks ago she rear ended a Nissan. I have to replace the bottom part of the front bumper.

Maybe I should just pull the coil wire and tell her it isn't running.

Well on whatever vehicle she drives you should probably do both plate bumpers, a full exocage and seats with 5-point harnesses to keep her safe.
