Short notice-Let's go out Gold Camp Road & try some side roads, see what's there. Might be some mud holes after the rains the last few days. Should be all kinds of terrain to explore & test rigs on. If anyone is interested we might take a gas grill & have burgers & hotdogs for lunch. I'm taking my stock 95 Bronco, my son (lemmy2010) is taking the beater 86 Bronco, Robert B will be there with his Blazer & maybe a couple friends with rigs.

We're going to meet at 4 wheel parts on S. Academy. They are having a sale & free food & giveaways. We will be there about 9:00 AM when they open, check out the goodies, & head out about 10:00. Look for the topless rust colored Bronco with cut fenders & doors. We will park out in the lot, away from the store. See ya there!

 Yikes! Just saw this, but no way for me this time. I can't wait to get out there, but new job and schedule has been killer with the rest of the month looking like more of the same. Have a great time and it might get a 'lil toasty out there tomorrow .

Sorry you can't make it Brian, but these days you have to be glad to have a job. Maybe next time.

We got some pics, not sure about video yet. We'll try to get pics up tonight. After you & Mitch left we were getting ready to head out too. A 4 door jeep packed with people pulled up & asked if we might be able to help them get a pickup unstuck. The lady said it was just a mile or so down the road. Turned out to be more like 10 to 12 miles. They had tried to turn out of a campground onto a trail & high-centered a Z71 crewcab. It was so well balanced on the frame a slight push on either end would rock it. Just took a good tug with a strap to slide it off.

That was fun! Videos and pics to follow. Eagle Rock was a lot of fun - but I pulled a not smart and rammed a big rock for no good reason, and yes, it will need some new steering parts. Drive home fine after using the winch to pull the linkage off the shock mounts, it was binding pretty bad. This is twice now we've made it 1/2 up Eagle Rock and turned around - third time in the charm tho! Can't wait. I'll put those free admission tickets to pull and pay to use too, prob going to grab the whole linkage knuckle to knuckle. Already planning on a radiator support skid plate, and moving the winch up to gain some angle of attack.

We had a great time with everybody - need to do this again soon!

Bummer about that dent Robert, but I did get some good video of you ripping up that junk car in the parking lot. Youtube links to follow.

I had intended to make this trip, but I was off to a bad start just leaving the house! Before leaving I checked the fluids and such. The clutch fluid was low (odd), so I added some. Leaving the house the clutch felt a little spongy. To make a long story short, before long I had no clutch! The pedal offered little resistance. I was in stuck 2nd gear and returning home and was less than a half mile from the house before I had to stop for a red light! I ended up getting Geno (Robert's dad) to help me out. We decided to try to start it in low range and see if I could start it in gear and ride it home. We waited for the light to change and the traffic to clear and I hit the starter! It worked great and we just slowly rode about a half mile home.

It turns out that the clutch fluid was dripping from the bell housing. The rest of the system (master cylinder and lines) were completely dry. This was bad news. So, I spent the day pulling the transmission and transfer case (along with all the associated goodies like driveshafts, starter, part of the exhaust, shifters, etc) to get to the clutch slave cylinder. Luckily, Geno is across the street and let me borrow his transmission jack (again) and that made life easier. I swapped out the slave cylinder, cleaned things up and had it back together and running by 9:00 PM! And thanks to Geno for giving me a hand getting he transmission back on the engine. It was a bit tricky for one guy and he graciously came over and had the transmission bolted in in just a few minutes! It's great having neighbors like him around!

There was a short break to walk across the street to check out Robert's dent though!

Anyway, all appears well now with the Jeep! Hopefully I will make it out next time!

Sorry to hear about so much work when you wanted to have some fun. Those internal slave cylinders are a real PITA.

I think PITA is putting it mildly!

Yep, it really sucks that it takes all day to replace an internal slave that was moved to the outside in later models. (I think) Seems like I have read of a kit to change the internal to external on Wranglers, but I may be thinking of Fords.
