If you read my previous posts about my apartment management wanting to raise my rent, you know how unhappy I am with our current place.
We found a new apartment in Castle Rock about halfway between the Outlet Malls and Sedalia on Hwy 85. My commute is increasing from 4 miles roundtrip to about 30, but my rent is $200 less per month. Along with the rent savings my water/sewer/trash bill is currently $135/month. The new place has a fixed rate of $50/month for WST. Not to mention it puts me about 30 minutes closer to a good network of trails!
I was hoping for RTD service for my commute, but it seems that Castle Rock has kicked them out. I suppose it's a good excuse to get in shape and bicycle to and from work!

I know where you will be, not far from my work. Is your job near light rail? There is a station you can bike to for a good commute. Hit me up if you want to go ride sometime!

I work off of Arapahoe and Jordan. There's a park and ride a ways away at 225 and Parker Rd.

I don't know if RTD got any better but the service between I25 and Parker on Arapahoe sucked when I worked near there. Buses stopped completely at like 6. That was like 15 years ago though and there has been a lot of development around there.

That seems like a great area to live in. I'm often traveling 85 in a truck while working.

Congrats on the new place! Before you go wild with modifications, a stock XJ can get 20 mpg on the highway. Best I did was 23mpg putting around Grand Junction, where they didn't have oxygenated fuel. :frown:

That means we can BBQ at my house. I live on top of that cliff kinda as you go into town.. east of I25 probably 8 minutes from your new place assuming its the yellow apts on the west side, north of outlets?

Those are the ones.
I talked with my Wife's cousin, and he said he and his kids have been really happy with the schools in that area too.

Supposedly DC schools are some of the best in the state and high ranking nationwide
