I wanted a mirror solution for my 2005 LJ when I go without doors. It became obvious after I tried to pull out of a tight parallel parking spot into significant traffic. :) After doing a lot of reading, I went with the Rugged Ridge Quick Release Mirror Kit and bought a pair (driver and passenger) side.

Here they are at Quadratec, many places sell them: http://www.quadratec.com/products/13025_140X_PG.htm

Both driver and passenger mirrors are identical, just oriented differently depending on which side of the Jeep you mount them to. They work for both TJ/LJ and JK/JKU style jeeps, but mount differently.

Driver side:

Passenger Side:

I love my driver side mirror and hate the passenger side mirror. They are exactly the same product, but the passenger side is too far away and has too small of a mirror to be useful on the far side of the Jeep.

I uninstalled the passenger side and just use the driver's side now. Because of the mounting bracket, there were no scratches or blemishes on the passenger side that I removed.

Recommend the driver's side, but only buy 1. Don't buy the second for the passenger side.

There are minimal vibrations, and some whistling when driving above 40. No tools required to put the mirror on, take it off. The whistling will vary based on what angle you mount the mirror.

Nice product! I would agree the passenger side won't help much and isn't legally required. Not much in the way of blind spots anyways with no doors or top!

The whistling was subtle and I forgot about it during the winter. :) Drove with no doors and I decided I would try and fix the whistling. Easy job.

The Blue 1. Points to metal, the Blue 2. points to rubber. The rubber lip was larger than the metal mirror base. I used a razor blade to remove the little lip of rubber around the mirror.

The red stripes show the area that was razor bladed off, all the way around the mirror. Very little material was removed and you can see all of the removed rubber here:

Total job was 10 minutes, including the test drive.

so, would the passenger mirror fit on the driver's side? if so, would you consider selling it?

New they are $40 on Quadratec right now. What do you think is fair? $25? I'm up in Longmont.

I've probably got 4Runner angry using something similar on my truck. I hate the huge stock ones so went with some small ones. Mine are 4" round which is the same size as RV convex mirrors so I slapped them over mine. Barb can now see out her window and the visibility is great. I had these on a while ago and just put them back on a couple days ago.
